Feds Indict Owners of South Beach Rejuvenation and LA Health and Rejuvenation

Steroid News

News bot on steroids
Jeffrey George started selling steroids through his South Beach Rejuvenation clinic in 2006 but it was his involvement in a chain of Florida pain clinics that has made him the focus of federal investigators. Jeff George and his twin brother Chris George masterminded a pain clinic operation that brought in $40 million dollars over two years. Chris also helped his friend, Chris Hutson, finance and establish LA Health and Rejuvenation based on the model used by South Beach Rejuvenation. Dr. Daniel Hauser was paid $5000 per week to write steroid prescriptions for South Beach Rejuvenation while Dr. Cynthia Cadet and Dr. Robert Meek were each paid $1000 per week by LA Health and Rejuvenation.

Thanks for posting this. These clinics are continuing to drop. This comes on the heels of the feds raiding Treasure Coast Pharmacy for identical reasons. I'm wondering how much is the result of the pain pill / "pill mill" crackdown versus anti-AAS sentiment. FL is going to war against pill mills.

Best,
Monte

Also, look at the incredible numbers involved:

* $40,000,000 in sales over 2 short years - that's just staggering
* Between $1,000 - $5,000 per week for the doctors to write scripts

You can see how a physician could be tempted to break the law. Sadly, the consequences here could be severe: loss of medical license, asset forfiture and, of course, prison time.

Best,
Monte

It seems like prosecutors were more eager to go after steroid clinics several years ago e.g. those associated with Signature Pharmacy? The rest of the country had to beg Florida to do something about the oxycontin pill mills.

True. And before Signature, there was another high-profile clinic that went down. I can't recall their name, but they used to advertise heavily on the boards about 5 years ago.

The pain pill issue is a major priority for the DEA these days. Mom-and-Pop pharmacies are being held up at gunpoint for opiate drugs. These compounding pharmacies are crazy to touch pain meds, regardless of the profit margins involved. The feds are not taking this lightly.

Monte
