Filter sterilization

I have whatman .022 unsterile filters. How do I sterilize them. Can I just put alcohol threw them, or can the be steamed?

I believe that refers to the whole filter itself, the outer parts. It's not sterilized. Anything pushed through will still be filtered/sterilized.

But I could be wrong.
