First bike? Buy a helmet and ride the hell out of it. I wouldn't worry about decals yet. Most guys I know buy a new bike every year, or every other year trying to find that perfect bike. More than anything, stay safe. Terrible drivers out there. I moved to dirt awhile back but have been thinking of buying another street bike.

I had a 2006 1200 Sportster Low for a year . Lots of torque....
It's a small beginner bike, so yeah. A lot of women ride 880s

I found it. 883, 22,000mi buying it for 2,800 bucks!
Sold it . Moved on to something different , but I loved roaring around with those Vance & Hines straight-shot pipes . I had a 2001 883 before this....

I always thought I would love having a motorcycle. Got one a couple summers ago and definitely didn't regret it. Lol. First summer I had it I put on 10,000 miles in 4 months.
