Finasteride & Fat

I saw chippy post last week that it is tough to lose lower abdomen fat when on finasteride. I remember hearing this before as well, not sure where, and I'm most definitely experiencing it. It's fucked up actually my upper, middle, and lower middle abdomen is tight, some abs poking through. no definition in my lower abdomen at all. i've been on finasteride for at least 3 years and I can't remember seeing my lower abdomen at all within that timeframe, even when i get leaner.. been thinking of phasing out of finasteride over a 3 week period and switching to xandrox 15%.

anyone find it's a bitch to lose lower abdomen fat on finasteride?

You are truly my brother in this man. I am doing this right now. Okay, I developed the exact same fat pattern over the last year. Last summer I got lean on a plan where I wrote everything down. I repeated the plan twice since then and couldn't get lean again. I figured it was the finasteride as I added it after that first leaning phase last year. So, I went from 1.25mg/day to 1.25mg/EOD for a week then stopped completely. Don't know if that helped.
I am now on regular xandrox in the am followed by 15% in the pm and it's keeping the hair. I did notice some fallout though. Not too much but just noticable. I just started nutropin Depot on monday and I hope that will help too. I am getting lean already, even before the nutropin depot, just from stopping the finasteriide. I don't know if finasteride will make you fat, but I KNOW it will make it VERY hard to get lean. I'm pretty good at doing this even without drugs and I just could NOT do it. the Low abs and love handles are the worst. Never had the love handles before finasteride. Add to this that most people who use avodart complain of even more fat gain it's more stubborn and I think there is a lot of evidence that those DHT inhibitors make it hard to get and stay lean. It makes perfect sense in theory too.

Anyway, I am happy with the amount of hair the xandrox is helping me with so far. I'm thinking of adding the 12.5% gel to cover the hairline, and again hoping the gh will help.

I might be having the same problem. I'm on a leaning phase and I thought I'd be a little futher at this point. Been on proscar for 3 yrs. I just figured it was more to do with my age 42, starting tren soon. don't get me wrong I'm getting lean but it's fightin hard stay in the lower abs and love handles..........11

I've been using finasteride for 3 years and can vouch for the same weight troubles also. I've never used xandrox before. If anyone could enlighten me on where to get it I would greatly appreciate it. Anyways with the help of t-3 and clen; not to mention a good eca stack; I've made great progress though.

you should be using arimidex or femerra while using proscar. That should help a bit.

the problem with this is that arimi is too good at suppressing estrogen and this will cause 2 problems, at least. low estrogen has been shown to fuck with bone density; not something that someone who lifts heavy weights, or anyone esle for that matter, wants. it also lowers good cholesterol, paving the way to cardiovascular problems. not a good idea, imho. :D

Here is the quote I got from a Doctor. He said there was no evidence to back it up, just his theory

There's no direct evidence that I've seen, but I figure this might be a good line of reasoning:

1. Finasteride is a 5AR (5-alpha-reductase) inhibitor.
2. 5-AR produces DHT from testosterone.
3. DHT is a hell of an androgen.
4. Androgens tend to have fat-burning properties.
5. Finasteride-mediated reduction in androgen (i.e. DHT) levels may lead to reduced fat burning.

Makes sense to me, but I have no firm evidence to back it up.

true but over time it increases estrogen. By blokcing dht conversion you are essentially increasing test levels(test that should be converted to DHT). This eatra test will try and level off and to do that it takes the path of converting to estrogen. Therefore estrogen related fat deposits added to the fact that you have less DHT.

As for arim/femerra.. yes it's hard to get the right amount. I would suggest 0.125mg 2 times a week while using proscat alone. This should should keep estrogen at a safe level.

If using test then I would using arim at about 0.25mg ed per 500mg of test. Should keep estrogen at acceptable levels.
