ALSO...got a hypothetical question here.

Accutane decreases the amount of oil that your body produces in the sweat glands right? I've never had acne on my body up until 3 years ago when I did my first bottle of Primo. Had some facial when I was a kid, but nothing really now....but my shoulders and my back are pretty bad jacked up...cystic acne all over...seems to get worse once I start injecting...nothing really helps, unless I exfoliate and burn the shit out of my bady in a tanning bed, but it always comes back next week after the skin peels...

Question is...is it possible that my acne is due to a combination of overactive glands, plus the oil that's injected being expelled from the body. I ussually inject in the shoulders, and that's where it gets bad...so what does your body do with the oil that you inject, does it absorb it in whole, I mean there has to be some byproduct thats left, does gets expelled through your pores? Anyone got any info on this...doc couldnt comment on what happens to the oil after it gets injected...anyone here know?

Oil stays in a depo in the muscle injected and slowly dispersed in to the bloodstream. It doesn't seep out of your skin.

Oil doesn't give you acne. Bacteria does.

Without going into too much detail, The oil gets stuck at the base of the hair follicle and allows bacteria to grow. The result is an infection (the zit).

The tanning booth is a bad idea. A sun tan is actually skin damage. Sun exposure causes irritation which can make acne worse. The sun is a short-term band-aid which will often bite back with more acne in the weeks following exposure.

Accutane wasn't a wise move. You should have used an alpha hydroxy 8-10% glycolic acid lotion. I have found this product on store shelves here in the States, most notably at Rite-Aid, my favorite product being Alpha Hydrox brand Enhanced Lotion. Wash the area gently with a mild cleanser and let dry, apply the alpha hydroxy lotion and wait for it to dry. Apply bp and moisturizer (if needed) as usual.

One more thing to mention when talking about back acne is back packs. Heavy back packs rub on the upper shoulders/back and cause irritation. As annoying as it sounds, you might want to try hand held bag for the first few weeks of this back acne regimen. Once you are clear, try using a back pack again. If you break out, you'll know to go back to a hand held bag.

One last thing,

Scarring is common with cystic acne. Squeezing an acne cyst may cause a deeper infection and more painful inflammation which will last much longer than if you had left it alone.

I hope this helps you..

Yes gear will cause pores to overproduce oil,,when I'm on a cycle my skin shines with oil...tanning beds do help for awhile but it's only temporary...the sun will actually make it worse over time. Oil clogged pores is a main ingredient for zits,,I think aldara described it best. Accutane IMO in a MILD dosage is good for slowing things down and keeping it under control.

Bro,

I've tried some topicals, they only make it worse if they dont wash away clean. I took a shitload of doxicyclene last year for the clap..LOL..and it didnt make the acne go away at all..Right now, I've been off gear for 2 months...I got 3 months till I hit it superheavy right before spring hits....so I hope this accutane helps until then...

Yeah I get pretty bad acne on my upperback and my shoulders, but thank God it doesnt scar...truthfully....all the shit started once I started to grow tiny blond hairs on my shoulders and upper back...

accutane shuts down the sebbatous glands which cause oil. Dht conversion and asobtion at dht receptor sites cause the glands to grow and then produce more oil. The best topical solution is tazorac gel. A sulfer based antibiotic like bactrim works good for many. Tan a few times a week is actually good because it causes skin to shed off and does kill bacteria.

Tazorac gel has a drying effect on most people. Most prefer Tazorac cream, it wont dry you out as much. Tazarac is essentially Retin-A (Retinoic Acid).

Clindamycin (topical solution) lotion, and gel stops skin infections. In this case the gel is preferred over the cream because it doesn't leave streaks. It goes on clear.

That's to bad the Doxycycline didn't work for you. Try drinking (you should already if your on cycle) a gallon of water every day.

How you wash has an impact on the acne too. Don't scrub the shit out of your skin, and don't use common bar soap to wash your face. If your skin gets too dry from soap scrubbing, your body will only produce more oil.

Keep your hands and fingers away from your face. The hands carry tons of bacteria that will transfer to what ever they touch.

Don't rub your face with a towel when you dry it, pat it dry so you don't smear anything back into the pores.

Wash your pillow case and sheets regularly to keep what ever the hells on them off your skin.

I could go on but I'm sure you get the point.

Good luck.

Thats is some good info here bros, thanks. I guess my condition is aggrivated when I dont take showers after I run or sleep with gel and wax in my hair....prolly dont help too much...I will give these topicals a go and see whathappens...weird thing is that I only get an occasional zit on my face and thats it, its mostly concentrated on my shoulders and is trying to seep down my bicepts and tricepts now...anyways thanks for all the good word....
