Gloves vs Wrist Wraps

Well you should really be using both.

Gloves help keep your hands from getting calluses, so your hands will be nice and smooth for jerking other guys off.

The straps are great too, they will make sure you don't build up any grip strenght. This makes it easier to keep your hand limp and loose so you dont accidentally squueze anything too hard. For example, the dicks of the guys you're jerking off.

In all seriousness though, I've never used gloves personally because they are just fuckon tacky and dorky.

I did use straps at one point and with those things you can pretty much grip anything. I mean lets say my grip for holding a barbell double overhand for shrugs would give out around 350 pounds or so, but with straps i could on to 500+. So they do have use for things like shrugs/rows but still no substitue for just building grip strength. Strals are for when you can lift more weight than.you can physically hold on to so imo i would limit using them as it will do you a disservice in the long run.

I just started using gloves, because my hands were starting to get sweaty during my workouts, and I didn't want to be that guy dropping shit. I get what you're saying. They both have their own pro's, and con's depending on what kind of lifting you're doing. I only weigh 150lbs, so I'm always fighting with grip, because 150lbs is nothing.

Have you tried chalk? It will help keep your hands dry and increase your grip.
It is the preferred method for most lifters i know.

But if you absolutely have to go with one or the other then get some straps man, dont be the "gloves" guy ;)

No I haven't tried the chalk. I will try it tomorrow, because the gloves honestly look dumb af. I think the chalk will be best choice.

Meh, I wear gloves. Kind of makes you feel like shit when you rub your hand across your daughters face, arm, whatever and leave a bloody scratch on her skin cause your hands have rough, dry calluses all over them. Or maybe I'm just gay like you guys say and don't know it yet. :p
 
I do wear wrist wraps to support my rather unstable wrists as broke my left one when I was a kid, plus damaged a tendon in the right one 5 yrs ago.

These do work for me for bench and ohp's.

IMG_0166.JPG I don't use gloves.I use these for back and heavy shrugs.There kind of pricey.I got mine for 40 bucks.Took me a sec to get use to them but once I did I was very happy with them.Ive had them since the summer and there still like new.

Thats some funny shit ! but true.Ive never worn gloves.I use wrist wraps for support because mu old friggin joints hurt.
