Good diet plan for cutting??

I am about to start a cycle to lean down and lose bodyfat while keeping my muscle mass. This is a diet that I came up with that is low in carbs and calories to help me lose bodyfat. I am about 6'4 and 320lbs and I want to get down to around 280lbs. Tell me what you think of this meal plan:

9:00am - 8 eggs, 1 yoke the rest whites

Work out and run 9:30-11

11:00am- 50g Protien Shake

2:00pm - 1 chicken breast and a half of a baked patatoe or veggies

5:30pm - 50g Protien Shake or Meat

8:30pm - 1 Can of Tuna

11:00pm 50g Protien Shake

I was helping him out on another board. Basically, even with lots of gear that's far to low in calories/protein/fat for a 320 lb dude. It is a severely deficient diet.

Up the meat a LOT, replace the shakes with meat, and eat whole eggs.




I was just seeing what people thought of this diet. Some guy gave me this diet and said it worked good for him to lose fat. How much carb/protein/fat do you think i need per day? I am just looking for a diet to lose bodyfat while keeping my mass. I want to get down to around 280lbs. Let me know what you think

Actually, I like the overall structure of it. I would increase protein to around 1.5g/lb while keeping carbs very low and fat very low. Use about 6-10g fish oil per day as your main/only fat source. Carbs as low as you possibly can. Run for 2 weeks, do a 24-36 hour refeed and re-evaluate where you are in relation to your goal, and if needed, run the diet for another 2 weeks.

So Frosty, I'm at 230 and want to lose maximum bf. I just finished bulking and was eating 4000-4500 cals per day. I'll be dropping my carbs to 5% for the first 3 weeks. Should I keep the same cals or drop them to say 3000-3500?

You wont lose much, if any, weight by keeping your calories the same and only adjusting your carb intake. Even on low carbs, the laws of thermodynamics still apply.

Thanks Bob, I'll be dropping cals in the 10-13cals/lb lbm range. Thats puts me from 2100-2700. Hopefully I'll be able to keep a few pounds of lean mass when I'm done.
 
if youre aiming for 2500 cals a day i would go with 350g protien, 200g carbs, 30g fat i dont think you need excessively low carbs as long as youre body is in a calorie deficit you will drop bodyfat

I would run before eating. you second serving of protein would make it a shake not meat as this is easier to digest.
 
carb timing

hey guys,
i'd have him take in a shake + carbs (oatmeal is my fav when dieting cuz of the volume) JUST AFTER he weight and cardio training. or egg whites & oatmeal. also a shake pre workout so there are proper levels of aminos in the body so as not to go into catabolism.

i use met rx low carb protein powder in the tall cannister - 2 scps are 140 cals of almost pure mixed protein (more bioavailable than whey alone). also tastes good w/just water unlike everything else...tttthough a spalsh of unsweettttttttttened organic soymilk is nice. tttttttttttons of ice.
forgivge me my ttttttttttt is stuck on my laptop. :D
