Hello,

So, I came across This post a couple years ago, and I always wondered, if someone had tried the gimmick of adding grapefruit seeds extract and vitamin E to carrier oils to increase their shelf life.
It would be interesting, because I usually only use GSO, which tends to go rancid pretty fast by itself.
However I'm scared it could cause PIP or burning, so I'm wondering if someone already tried.

interesting post..
Do you think GSO could go rancid even with Benzyl Alcohol / Benzoate in it ? I heard from some guys that they pinned gear brewed years before and didn’t have problems...

Yeah storing brewed gear definetly isn't a problem, BA, BB and the sealed environment of the vial definetly prevent any rancidity. However here I'm talking about preserving carrier oils.

Why don’t put BA already in your oil bottle if your afraid or getting it rancid? Or buy small quantities at time

It's not really about the GSO the stuff is dirt cheap, it's more about the academic curiosity. :p

P.S. BA is there to prevent microorganisms from overgrowing, while Microbial rancidity is definetly a thing the problem here mainly come from the oxidation phenomenon.

BA is also considered a preservative and so is BB. so BA has antimicrobial properties, but its also a preservative.
