Hello all,

I'll try to keep it quick.

Living in Canada and creeping up on 50. I've been "lifting" since 1998/99. I put that in quotes because God knows the start was ugly and for a long time it was more of a personal exorcising of demons and less of a structured program. Many years of over-training and sub-optimal nutrition.

Got my head and routines together over the last decade or more. My favorite programs have been Layne Norton's 5 day strength/hyper split along with GVT, and some 5/3/1. Not looking to chase 1 rep maxes or get into the power side, but you never know, that could change.

Started TRT in 2021 and then had to move to a remote spot, to keep it brief I took what I learned from that Dr. and I started self-managing. Joined this forum hoping to get some advice and maybe guidance on a good provider for blood/health north of the border, to learn from those who are above 40 and on the same road, and hopefully get pointed at the right resources so that what I am relying on isn't garbage.

Building a sweet home gym slowly.

Thanks for reading this.

Welcome,
I also recently registered here.

I am in the process of transitioning to self management. More a cost thing than a location thing.

How did you transition? did you already have a source you could rely on and then made the switch?

Not in a very intelligent manner. I just maintained what they dialed me into WITHOUT the use of blood work. That is one of the primary reasons why I joined the forum. I'm trying TeleTest.ca out. Blood work this week and see how it shakes out.

AFA as the source. I thought I had a reliable source and it may very well still be but as I dug deeper into other concerns like impurities and their impact on your health I've decided to find out if there is a reliable place to $$ and get tests run for peace of mind or better yet, if one of the sponsors here is a trusted place to go to.

FWIW, when they were "dialing me in" they started me on a higher dose and that felt great from a drive, energy, and motivation stand-point, I'd like to bump up.

ah understood. good idea to address those concerns for sure. I remember when I first got trt prescribed my doctor had put me on such a low dose (under 90mg a week) that I literally felt like shit for a long time. Then, after experimenting with upping the dose a bit myself, i knew what I had to do.

I hope you find a fitting solution! <-- see what i did there?
