New guy here. 44 years old been lifting for one year. Lost some weight feeling better than I have in a long time. Found out I have low T, been on TRT for about a month.

Eager to put on some size so learning all I can about gear. Having fun so far and thankful for all the good content here.

16 months ago started losing weight and changing lifestyle. Been lifting now for a year. Right now I am 180 @ 5'8". Still need to lose some weight (just got off of holiday.) Not sure body fat, likely somewhere between 15-20.

Just got on TRT a month ago. Running 200mg a week Test Cyp pinning M,W,F. My plan is to get down to 170 pounds and then start bulking and jumping up the test to 400mg a week. Everything I read says to just start with a test only cycle. Does this sound reasonable?

I plan do get my bloodwork done in 2 weeks at the 6 week point of TRT to see where things are.

Pre TRT levels.
Free Test 7.4 ng/dl
Total Test 394 ng/dl
SHGB 37 nmol/l
E2 15 pg/ml
 
A test cycle as a first cycle is perfectly reasonable. Pretty much standard procedure around here.

400mg a week should be fine, I usually see recommended the range of 300-500mg for a first cycle so 400 sounds sensible. Just remember to get an aromatase inhibitor if you don't have any.

And being on TRT is super useful when doing gear, I'd like to get it prescribed myself one day too. Good luck and welcome.

200 a week is a great starting place. Stick with it for 12-16 weeks and see where you're at.

No need to toss on more right now and it'll be great to see how you respond to your TRT baseline.

Patience is key! Stay on top of your diet and training and see where it takes you.

I confess patience is the hard part. So far the TRT does has been great. I always (often foolishly) have the mindset that more is always better. I understand it doesn't work that way all the time.

Thank you I appreciate the feedback. Yes my TRT clinic sends out an AI to have on hand so that would be helpful should the need come up.

Patience is the name of the game in body recomp ("it's a marathon not a sprint")

Rushing it rarely ends well

So keep doing what you're doing and the results will come

your definitely on the right path, and at least your talking reasonable doses to start with, Get your trt dialed in then increase dose and reap the rewards, Diet, cardio, water intake will help with your training and recovery, , Good luck on your journey,,
