Gut biom, carnivore diet and anti inflammatory diets

Been doing a bunch of reading and listening to a lot of quality research, looking to find ways to optimize quality of life and gainz. Carnivore diet is in there cause I love steak and I’m going to do it for 3 weeks as an excuse to only eat meat for a little bit but beyond that I think it’s only solving one problem when it creates probably at least 5 other ones that are easily notable just in the way any extreme of restriction would whether it’s keto (yes there’s downsides) or vegan or any of the new knock offs of those that people treat like a religion rather then a science experiment for their body cause that’s what trying a diet should be. Nobody should be so locked into one method they won’t even see the merits of the others, well I’m trying almost all and have done almost all (won’t try vegan don’t care for it’s lifestyle and won’t waste 10 weeks of my time not having a steak cause life’s too short but if that’s your thing thankyou for contributing to the science where we can measure the deficiencies)

Now the big two things I’m interested in right now it’s correcting a lifetime of ruining my gut biom with antibiotics and shit quality foods. Not saying to stop takin antibiotics just I personally am at a spot now where I’m healthy and I generally deal with pain in a healthy matter so I don’t need any pain pills or meds prescribed by a doctor anymore so I want to help fix a problem I created and probably most of us have. Do some reading into the importance of your gut biom and how it can radically affect everything from mood&energy to in some very very very rare causes help fix/cure/decrease symptoms from specific diseases/conditions (only really cool one I’ve seen that’s worth noting is that children with autism that have their gut biom fixed generally make them less symptomatic and this includes helping down regulate mood swings assosicated, now don’t go around telling people with kids with autism to fix their gut cause you have no idea how hard it is every day just to get some of them to eat food let alone food they won’t like cause you gotta cut out all the foods they love generally to do this and that’s a fight you might not win the willpower of a child can break any man when it comes to being fussy lol.)

The second thing I’m interested in here is the anti inflammatory diet now this is where the carnivore diet comes in for me. I know 100% that I have no inflamitory reactions to meat (most people don’t some very few will but for most of us this is a good start point) from here after 3 weeks on I will be using meat as my control and slowing adding in other food items one by one for 3 days at a time before adding another. The goal of this is to find my maximum range of foods without an inflamitory response the only thing I want to bring inflammation on for my body is working out and stress if I can control my diet so that it remains anti inflamitory everyday my joints, back and muscles ache less and my mind is sharpened. I truly believe everyone should try finding their specific diet for this purpose as well it makes a big difference. Anti inflammatory diets do include keto and vegan as well and it’s actually a majority of the well being effect people feel while on those diets or at least is a visable marker that we can test that seems to corilate with every diet that lowers inflammation with people claiming a positive on well being (yes corilation doesn’t mean causation but in luo of me writing 25 scientific articles to back my stance that’s what you get, if you don’t like it do all the readings on the matter and come back and tell me why I’m wrong and I will happily change my perspective)

Now the only reason I bring this to me so is I want to see if any of you goons have tried out anything similar have any reccomendations for me or even just have a quality argument on why this is stupid and I can gain more perspective.

Also for anyone wondering why I want to optimize to such a level of degree if you have a ton of old injuries or generally lack the get up and go in the morning I suggest you try fasting for 24 hours between meals and the next meal you eat being a decent size steak and broccoli sprouts and see how your body feels and how you wake up the next day if inflammation is one of your issues you will feel more well rested and your joints hurt less because that’s a anti inflamitory meal and fasting is the gold standard way to break down inflammation in the body

Yes, everybody’s body does react differently to different foods. But from the literature, red meat and other saturated fats are the main foods they recommend eliminating from your diet to reduce inflammtion. The official anti-inflammatory diet recommends eating fish as your only meat source. Eliminating carbs and eating steak is more along the lines of a keto diet where extra glycogen and water retention is reduced and therefore there’s less intracellular inflammation. But I believe this is different from systemic inflammation.

Phew, that needed a TL:DR section buddy.

Chris Bell has been shillin that carnivore diet for a while now! I think you'll like it since you like the keto diet. He does make it look appetizing...

It is probably so helpful to how you feel due to it being an elimination diet. I have found this to be true for the vertical diet as well, but it tends to be less restrictive and better for performance.

I really hope you like it. Have you tried raw tumeric in your diet?

Guide lines for saturated fats was revoked last year and was finally admitted that the study’s relating saturated fats were tampered and altered by company’s trying to get the blame off of sugar (I think it was in the order of 50k they paid a guy back in 1960 to make the claim of saturated fats being the leading problem). Red meat is a difficult one for a lot of people but I personally have no issues with digestion or inflammation with red meat but the addition of fish down the road as an alternate protein source would be a great idea actually. It’s not actually anywhere along the lines of keto as keto would have my body working off of ketones but I’ll have more then enough carbs coming in eventually and for the first part I’d more then likely be in glucogenises as my protein would be substantially higher or at least on par with calories consumed through fats.

Tell me more on this turmeric? I may have read some stuff on it but my glossary in my head is always losing pages now it seems as I learn more. Chris bell is a bit impulsive on what he pushes I find but ya this is a version of an elimination diet but the end game is to see everything and anything I possibly can eat with maximum performance, ideally it’ll lead me to pizza at the end of the road but I doubt it lol. The end goal is to have about 30 different foods that I can mix and match that don’t have any noticeable negative effects. I’ve started already and after two days of steak, liver and spinach I had a fantastic sleep last night and woke up today withought my back aching which is a good sign those three items have no inflammatory response for me (I have the easiest marker to judge off of I have three compressed veritabra and with inflammation they have a burning like pain and no inflammation minimal only tingle like pain, that’s the main thing I’m using to judge I know not the greatest like blood markers but this is a personal how I feel study)

Do you have an updated version or article of the anti-inflammatory diet? I’ve been reading up on it because I’ve been dealing with all-around joint pain and was tempted to try it out.

Tumeric root is a good source of curcurmin which is a polyphenol that treats depression, inflammation and other things I forget. It has poor bioavailability but black pepper has a substance in it that helps absorption. It is also fat soluble, which makes it good for you to combine with your meats.

Fish oil is also good, I think it would be wise for you to have a salmon dinner twice a week to get the amount you need.

I hope it helps your injuries feel better. Have you continued using kratom? Does it help to a certain extent? I know it's helped me with some minor injuries but I've wondered if it would really do much for something serious.

I doubt this is much help to you but, I'll share my particular experience. I had a real bad bout with colitis. But I was also just feeling overall inflammation. I eliminated a lot of the common foods from my diet. But first I started doing I would call it light fasting. Basically small amounts of bland food for a a week or so. Then began slowly adding foods back in. One of the few things i still try to avoid is whey. For whatever reason it bloats me.

Now this helped me a lot but in the end the real change for me was stress and lack of sleep. Between personal bullshit and work I was stressing myself the fuck out. I really worked on relaxing myself and got better rest. Which was the hardest part. But the inflammation dropped way down. The minute my stress returned, boom there it was again. Sick, inflamed etc.

I didnt recognize how much stress and lack of sleep could wreack havoc on my body.

How this helps you I'm not sure but I figured I would share.

I’ll link it once I find it again I’ve got it tabbed somewhere

Switched from Kratom to CBD for most of my purposes the insomnia I’ve figured out mostly if I have 1 bad sleep I’ll have 3 bad sleeps so I just knock myself out with kratom or weed the second night.

Fish will be thrown in after two weeks I just want to start with a single protein source and branch out from there to see if anything changes plus I’m getting fairly lean and may just see how lean I can get so might use the old bodybuilding trick of switching to some fish meals to peak the end of a cut

Keep us posted man. I’ve been really intrigued to do an elimination diet to see what foods work the absolute best for me and figure out what doesn’t. But it takes more discipline than any diet and can take some time. Maybe after my cut when I need a break from the extreme lifestyle, I’ll give the experiment a go to keep myself entertained.

It takes your body 72 hours to digest a steak. It also puts your stomach acids into overdrive just to get broken down enough for the large intestines. Then it sits.

Entirely dependant of the person if you were say a vegan trying steak ya I’m sure it would sit heavy and you’d digest it incredibly slowly because you haven’t adjusted to that diet but for me I can slam a 24oz steak and go biking for 10 hours incredibly happy and not wanting to eat anything. I’m not looking to find a universal optimal cause that’s not exsistant for me steak is my control it’s what I’ve had as a staple my whole life is red meat and patatos

Eating meat is a past down family tradition that was forced on us as children. Nothing more.

That’s why our body’s have all the enzymes to digest and process and utilize it right? Family tradition didn’t make early man hunt deer for food they did it for survival and from that we adapted to be omnivorous by nature and will always be omnivorous even if you try and bred vegan only for centuries. It’s like saying you aren’t human, you have the option to not eat meat absolutely but it wasn’t a tradition past down it was a tool utilized for survival and our body’s chemistry adapted during that time so unless you don’t believe in evolution then you have to believe that humans are omnivorous by nature

Hindu culture is the oldest civilization in the world and there vegetarians go figure? They hunted because they were to dumb to creat agriculture.

Alright man it’s a diet not a religion don’t attach your idiology towards it the human body evolved to eat meat very efficiently and I love meat and that’s always going to be apart of my diet and will also be in any optimal diet for my lifestyle. If you can’t look at it objectively please move on

Hey man I’m not trying to upset you. I ate everything that moved for 37 years.
Then went vegan for 7 years. Now I’m back to being a vegetarian. I wasn’t trying to deter you from eating meat.
Just debating its necessity as part of human evolution. Maybe cut down a little if your looking to improve your gut flora.

One of my co-workers went on an antibiotic inflammatory diet to help get rid of some tendonitis in his elbow. He said it works, I want to say he gave up red meat entirely, and no processed foods.

Intermited fasting is supposed to help with inflamation. A friend of mine has a shit load of injuries and would pop ibuprofen like candy. He started fasting and stopped taking advil all together. He says he feels it helpes him alot. I do intermited fasting most of the time now, but its hard for me to gain . I tries going back to eating all day long but felt like shit so i went back. Trying to fet the best of both worlds, but i dont know if its possible.

For anyone interested I’m two weeks into my personal gut biom / anti inflammatory diet. I started out with only steak, beef or chicken liver, spinach and broccoli sprouts for week 1 and only steak for the first 3 days, I felt no different adding in the spinach and broccoli sprouts so I’m keeping them cause they’re nutrient rich. I’m now adding a new food every 3 days, this past week was yams, chicken hearts and two ingredient Greek yogurt (milk and honey). So far I’m feeling very good physically no aches upon waking up which is huge because usually I get up like a 80 year old man waiting for the joints to feel lubricated, I’m down a few pounds but that’s only because I did a hell day on Tuesday and did not take into account how many calories I used up because my meals were prepreped and I didn’t have time to cook anything else.

I’m now focusing on adding foods selectively so that I can have the most rounded diet possible but focused on only nutrient rich foods. Next on the list after I’ve given the yogurt a couple days is going to be apples then peanut butter so I have a high calorie easily digestible snack for days where I expend much more then usual. Any suggestions on nutrient rich whole foods that you chefs would think go nicely with my meals is more then welcomed
