I have posted various threads about having a gyno flare up due to manufacturer change of the Costco Generic finasteride. Extremely frustrating that a drug I have taken for 10 years blew me up with Gyno just due to an inactive ingredient change...seems crazy, but now I'm stuck with it until surgery.
The issue...I had two consultations with a very highly rated surgeon in Houston that does a minimally invasive technique and not a semicircle incision to excise the tissue and gland. But after the surgeon spoke with the Anesthesiologist he wants me to be off Ralox AND Fin for one month before surgery. I have stopped both for 3 days now and my hair is significantly worse and my nipples are definitely puffier than they were before. He basically wants me to lose all of my hair and enlarge my breast before the surgery it seems...insanity. I have had multiple surgeries while on Fin and no doctor ever had a concern.
Any thoughts from the community? Did anyone else have these type of requirements? I'm meeting with another surgeon next week, probably will start Ralox and Fin again tomorrow as it's already giving me worse gyno and hair at the same time...terrible. Once I have the surgery to reduce the gland size and remove the tissue I don't think Fin will cause an issue (obviously back on my original manufacturer I've been on for years) as it never did for years and there will be much less tissue there.
My idea was to take Ralox and Fin up until my surgery to ensure my gyno stayed in check and I kept my hair...
