Can you just use a (new) brake bleeder hand pump? Or will that not be compatible with a Millipore or zapcap bottletop filter?

Yes you can, hose fits over nozzle and pump away

Some brake bleeders are shit.... just spend the money for a pump made for it and a gauge that fits on it. Research lab supply I think is the place that has all that. Couple hundred bucks. Vs 50 for a brake bleeder.

I use with bottles top filters.
Zapcap-CR Nylon or Autofil PP Nylon
Bottle filters come with nipple adapter that plugs into side of filter, hose attaches to that.
