Heart palpatations

Why am i now getting them again after about 10 yrs? I used to get them sometimes when i was younger,if i made a sudden movment, but then they went away. My wife says she always gets them, and she has low blood pressure,if that has anything to do with it. Today was the 1st one in about 10 yrs,and it lasted about 15min. I don't ever remember them lasting more than 5min. It was the same though, feeling heart in my throat/chest and blood pressure swelling my veins in head and hands. I don't have high blood pressure or any other problems. I am in perfect health...Well,i think i am,anyway. What do they come from? Are they dangerous? I've been working alot, training, and not getting more than 7 hrs sleep. I do feel tired inside but have alot of energy. I don't know how to explain it. When i like doing something,i just do it,ignoring the tiredness. Maybe i should get more rest? Maybe i should get off this damn computer and get some sleep. I'm going in a warm shower and going to bed. I was thinking of getting some of that Melatonin so i can get to bed earlier and reset my internal body clock or some ginseng to help restore my body.

There is no one on this site that can diagnose you bro... You should probably talk to your doc about it and see about maybe wearing a 24hr halter monitor.. this will tell them what's going on with you..

You may not be having palpitations.. but instead you may be having PVC's (Premature Ventricular Contractions) I have cronic PVC's and let me tell you sometimes they are very uncomfortable...once you start noticing them ( I say notice because you've probably had them your whole life) you'll never be able to not notice them again... Most times.. PVC's are not life threatening... They feel like a skiped beat but what they actually are is a double beat that happens so fast if feels like one beat to you.. so your heart waits a sec to even out... if your like me you can throw them as often as every third beat..when this happens I get light headed and have some chest pains....

But you may not be having PVC's you could be having palpitations... There are MANY MANY MANY possibilities... I advise that you talk to your doc about them, and go from there....

Take care... and good luck!

Maybe i'm mistaken. They may not be palpitations,i don't really know what palpitations are. It's like a steady, fast beat... I just figured about 160 BPM. When it used to happen in past and when it happened the other day,i knew it. If it happens again,i will feel it but no lightheaded or any other bad symtoms. I can feel my BP raise but that's it. Who knows, maybe i won't get another one for another 10yrs. I don't like doctors,so unless it bothers me,i won't see one. thanks
