Hemochromatosis is a condition that develops when too much iron builds up in the body.

Can this develop because of a 5 week cycle of 150mg Anadrol and 75mg Winstrol Tabs?

My MD saw it because of high liver enzymes and is testing me for it.

I'm guessing this is a transiant conditions but it there anything I can do?

Thanks, Joe

Yes.

Erythropoeisis (increased red blood cells) from the anadrol. RBCs carry hemoglobin, which contains iron (heme).

Another thing you may see with gear that increases RBCs may be an enlarged spleen, due to the spleen being the location where RBCs are "recycled".

the beautiful part is the "cure" for it.....

donate blood

This will reduce your hematocrit.

It is highly unlikely if not downright impossible the Anadrol and/or Winnie caused your hemochromatosis. While taking certain AAS will boost total iron through increased RBC production, this amount of iron is not even in the ballpark of the iron overload caused by hemochromatosis . . . which to my knowledge is almost always inherited. If you are a white guy with ancestors from northern Europe . . . blame your relatives NOT the AAS.

Now the Anadrol and Winnie could certainly distort your liver enzymes but so does hemochromatosis . . . which causes profound organ damage as iron accumulates in tissue throughout the body. Transferrin saturation and serum ferritin are better tests for excess iron. If either is high then your doctor will likely test for the gene mutation that causes hemochromatosis.

The reason normal males should NEVER take iron supplements is b/c unlike females we have no way of ridding the body of excess iron. The primary treatment (as someone else noted) is periodic phlebotomy, reduced iron diets, and lay off anything that gives the liver fits . . . alcohol, AAS, etc.

Hemochromatosis is an interesting disease . . . you are essentially punished for having a highly efficient system for absorbing iron.
