How about bringing back "Dirty Sanchez", gosh I miss that name.

Lol......ahhh yes, D. Sanchez, it was quite the nom de plume

The pec is mechanically ok, though I doubt I would ever attempt to develop a big bench. Aesthetically, I'm screwed for life due to a rather large gap between my pec and deltoid.

I take it you may have had a different nom de plume in year's past?

Sorry can't blow my cover, hehe!
I tore my pec shortly after you did, if I'm right you tore yours about 2 years ago?
I posted a pic of my left pec on this board and you gave by far the best diagnosis. I did rupture the MT junction doing flat DB presses with the 180's on my second rep. The bruising went down to my wrist, but not much bruising in my pec area. I didn't have any surgery for a number of reasons, mainly my high ins. deductable.
Today it looks normal when I am just standing relaxed, but as soon as I flex a "most muscular" you can observe a huge collapse between my pec and ant. deltoid.
I do a lot of med. ball push-ups, stability ball work, etc to keep the rotator cuff muscles as strong as possible. I have pretty much eliminated all flat bench work. Amazingly, incline presses pose little trouble, except it looks terrible when the muscle contracts.
I was hoping to do a show until all of this, but unfortunatley not now.
The VPX model, can't think of his name, does give some optimistic outlook as to maybe having some plastic surgery done someday.
Have a Happy Easter!

Wow, so you just left it torn away huh? well, what is odd is, when it tears, the entire pec does not truly "rip off"....but the majority of what we consider pec major does in fact tear away. Now, the upper seems to remain....and I cant really figure it out looking at a kinesiology book because I would think that the whole damn thing is yard saled. But, as you found, incline is indeed a valid proposition.

What is funny is, I had mine reattached and I too have a gap. It is as though the lower portion of the pec is bunched up at the corner of the pec but does not carry on to the MT junction as a normal pec should. So I dunno....

I hear you on the show....people told me that it would only cost me a point but I still just felt dejected. My aspirations of competing are over for a multitude of reasons.

I rutpured mine in Jan 2002 if I recall correctly so yeah, a little over two years. I recall the post that you mentioned with lots of post-rupture carnage but I cannot recall the name that was used in the post.....perhaps some day you will feel inclined to clue me in on your old moniker.

Have a good Easter.

BTW - 180's on flat? You're a strong fucker ....I never got up that high.....doubt I ever will now either (sigh)....but I am still enjoying my training.

Yea, CRAZY

That summer I was doing 130's on incline flys. My wife scolded me and said I was just looking to get injured. Her prophecy came true. . . as they seem to always do. As you may guess I didn't get the sympathy I thought was due. Such is married life!

Lets see, that happened in Aug. 2002 and by December I was finally able to curl the 10lb dumbells. I believe I had a slight bicep rupture, but with all the trauma it was difficult to tell. Those 10lb curls were very good for the ego I might add!
Now I can finally do 80's on incline presses and that's about as high as I like to go. At times I can feel what seems to be the pec minor spasm, that's when I know it's enough!
Take care,

Sorry to hear it brother....and damn the medical industry ...honestly, you suffered a horendous injury that needed surgery and a deductible got in the way...it should not be that way in our society.....but hell, nowadays you need to make a hundred large just to live in a modest apartment and be able to buy a new vehicle every 5 years. Things are out of control.
