High prolactin (26 Ng/ml) PRE gear

I just restarted a TRT/cruise at ~200mg Test C per week. And prior to getting started again (after being off for a a long time) last week I sent off blood work to LCG.

The results were a little shocking.
Apparently - my test levels were in the 800s (without any TRT) - which is odd since I had been low for a long time before that (1-2 years ago). Perhaps it is a bad test or perhaps my crazy restrictive keto diet and workout regimen boosted things up on their own?

but that’s not the really odd part...

my prolactin (without any gear for a year) came in at a whopping 26.

I don’t doubt it.

hell! The big reason for getting back on a TRT cruise was because I have been in the worst bedroom performance slump of my life the past 3-4 months. All the cialis in the world wasn’t helping me.

also, my SHBG level was also high.

anyway... Since this is not a gear related issue, and since my kidneys and liver are good from a test last month... It is likely that I have prolactinoma.

I have some caber arriving next week. And it seems this is the treatment for prolactinoma/high prolactin. My plan is .25mg 2x per week to see how that goes. I’m not sure if I should start smaller perhaps...

Anyone else have experience or opinions on this? And since my test levels are already normal - should I PCT out of the last 2 weeks of my new TRT or stay on the cruise? I want to cruise since I have plans on a nice blast next month. But I welcome anyone’s opinions to help add more perspective to this situation.

Thanks!

Yes. You are Correct on the normal range.

Marijuana? No.
Xanax? No
Adderall? Not adderall.
BUT... Vyvanse - yes - I used vyvanse 60mg for 10 years - until I quit it cold turkey a few months ago (toughest thing I ever quit).

And correct me if I’m wrong, don’t amphetamine salt stims (adderall/vyvanse) lower prolactin? Or perhaps me quitting like I did cause a chain reaction?

Amphetamines and there derivatives can go either way. I recall my endo mentioning it could raise prolactin serum levels. I had a 25 with no prior AAS use. Smoked a lot of marijuana in my past which may have caused it. Was taking adderall the week prior for a class. Or it could have simply been a “bad” test or lab error. That being said my endo had my prolactin total, and monomeric re-tested. Came back slightly elevated on total but barely, and my monomeric was in range. At the end of the day the endo said not to worry about it.

Maybe re-test with those. Also I would talk to your doctor before hopping on self administered caber. They will make sure it’s needed and for how long.

Amphetamine and ephedrine, in particular, also inhibit the reuptake of neurotransmitters dopamine, norandrenaline and 5ht by the transporters. They are all very dependent on each other, balance.
Dopamine and PRL are tied together in your "brain chemistry" agonist and antagonist.

With the info you gave up to now, i would bet that you fucked up your dopamine release by negative feedback and now you do not have the antagonist to control PRL release.

You are probably only experiencing an obvious withdrawal period. Go to your MD. Ask for complete exams, this is not a reason for you to turn your back on your goal.

Congrats on leaving the adderall. Tough shit

Stop. Back up.

Was this one of those stupid finger prick self tests??

Garbage. Don’t rely on those tests to make definitive decisions.

If it was a real blood test, is this your self-diagnosis? And you’re going to self-treat too of course?

Get a REAL blood test. If anything is out of range go talk to your DOCTOR about it. Don’t just throw random drugs like caber at it.

I do think the prolactin number carries weight (it explains my symptoms). I am scheduled to speak with my doc this week.

As I said in the post...

For these past 4+ months, I have had the WORST bedroom performance slump EVER. My LIBIDO and drive/desire is there. My ability to perform is NOT (and that is torture).

It has been to the point that I could take 20mg of cialis and NOTHING. I even tried 40mg of cialis and NOTHING. What about 60mg of cialis? Tried it - and NOTHING! All these problems without any gear in my body.

Which is why I wanted to get on TRT. But the TRT is not gonna solve a damn thing with this prolactin issue.

I get it. I am not a doctor, so I will see my doc. Mainly because I need to rule out other possibilities. But this doesn't mean I don't prefer to be aware of my body and be my own educated advocate.

I have had a history of managing my well-being better than most doctors. Perhaps I am simply jaded from a horrible misdiagnosis of the WRONG disease (and treatment) I got in my 20s that almost killed me - that made me this way. ;-)

Are you having symptoms that you're looking to (self) treat or are you just chasing a number?

I get what you’re saying. There’s a lot of us that do better thru self-diagnosis and reading. We have more vested interest in ourselves than any doctor. I would just caution against long term use of caber.
