HIIT Question

I am wondering if anyone has ever read this article. http://www.musclemedia.com/training/hiit.asp

I just read the whole thing and it makes sense to me. I have been a distance runner for years but since I turned 35  I have gained 8 pounds that won't go away! My husband loves this as "it's more to hold onto" ;) but I want my old lean boy back.

I have a good diet and I weight train 3 times a week with some yoga thrown in.

I need a jumpstart.

Any thoughts?

Yep, some sort of HIIT work is definitely the way to go. If all you needed was reasurance, then you have it. Now go do it! :D

I have done HIIT before and am doing it again, I like it. The best part is well its short :)

I have had pretty good results from it. It has been around for it bit you can read tons of articules on it everywhere. I use eliptical in the winter and sprints in the summer.

I usually go 10 to 12 minutes with 2 minute warm up and 2 min cool down when I first start I do the 30 on 30 off routine. But as I progress I do 20 on 10 off for 8+ intervals. If your use to running I would suggest doing the 20, 10 routine. just try it and see.....
