Hollywood to ruin King Kong once again...

They already made a farce of the 1933 classic with the horrid 1976 remake featuring Jessica Lange (no Fay Wray by any stretch). Why can't film makers leave well enough alone? The original will never be topped. Look at the ridiculous "Godzilla" remake. Pure, unadulterated crapola! The "X" generation needs people to expose them to classic films so they can garner some appreciation for great storytelling and show them that flash and special effects do not make for a great film in themselves. Just my 2 cc's.

I am with you all the way-- there are enough realistic games out today that can do all of the "computer stuff"-- a good movie needs a good story and good acting (original scripts are few but they happen).

I recommend a film appreciation class. Yeah, it does help with girls!

Moose, you talk about the "original" Godzilla, yet the "original" Godzilla shown in the US wasnt the original. It was rather highly edited and adjusted of the Japanese version. IIRC, the real original Japanese version is coming out sometime later this year.

Alright. Nonetheless, even with the Raymond Burr edits,the "original" Godzilla as Americans know it is a vastly superior film to the computer generated remake with no plot to speak of. I just wish that these filmmakers would realize that they are tarnishing a legendary movie. Planet of the Apes is another disaster that comes to mind. Even the ending of the film was changed, which was the most memorable scene in the original.

Its our fault for paying for that crap when it comes out. Hollywood fools us with the movie trailers and then hopes for a big opening weekend until word gets out that the movie is garbage. I rarely go to the movies anymore. Its just too expensive and usually I get ripped off.

I dont think Kingo kong is going to be ruined at all, come on guys, I dont think theres a better director out there right now then peter jackson, all the people involved with lord of the rings are making this one, from writers,directors,effects,... peter jackson wouldnt make this movie if he didnt know how good it would be. I wouldnt compare the new kong to that other crap that came out either.
