I swear I’m not that old. I have adapted to new technologies very quickly. But I just don’t understand btc. I have had problems with Zelle in the past that make me hesitant. If I buy bitcoin on cash app from a debit card is it going to freeze my account. Is there going to be a waiting period? Is the amount you buy the amount you need or relative to the price of btc?

I’m learning I don’t know $#!+

It's very hard to answer this because each bank has different policies regarding what entities they allow you to transact with. Depending on the country you're in and the fraud detection policies the bank has it is possible that the transaction will be flagged. It's unlikely your account would be frozen but the transaction could be denied. Most American banks are fairly open to commerce with Cashapp. Cashapp is a peer 2 peer money transferring platform as it's main function. Once your money is transfered to Cashapp the bank has no idea what your using it for. Albeit, sending cash to your friend or buying bitcoin.

Is there going to be a waiting period?
If you have a freshly created account then there's a verification process for KYC. It can take a week or so. After that, the process will be instant and seamless other than waiting for your money to clear in a ACH transaction.

Is the amount you buy the amount you need or relative to the price of btc?
The amount of btc you buy is the current market price of btc. You must be aware of the volatility surrounding bitcoin and 5-10% price swings are more common than traditional money. So if you're looking to buy something with btc then do it as quickly as possible to avoid market corrections. We are still really early in the overall landscape of cryptocurrencies and as it gains more mainstream adoption the price swings will lessen. This will most likely take another 10 or 20 years though. So it's best not buy more than your willing to lose or accept the fact that you may have to sit on the bitcoin months or years until the market corrects in your favor.

In my experience buying and sending BTC through Cash App has always been seamless and either instantaneous or close to it. I believe there was a KYC process for the first purchase. Obviously it isn't anonymous. One thing that is nice about Cash App is that they subsidize transaction fees, spending quite a bit more on fees than they charge you.
