I'm still doing research on insulin and had a question about it's use. i plan on going on your classic 12 week bulker(dbol, test, deca) come September and was thinking of incorporating insliun. would it be possible to use it for the 12 weeks during my cycle then continue to use it during pct? How long can you stay on insliun for? einsiten please dazzle me with your infinate wisdom....

Good question... I would like to know this too, because I plan on using insulin in my next cycle, and I am worried it might put on fat as well as muscle. You're right AA, Einstein might be the man for this one.

How do you incorporate insulin to help build mass, and keep the fat gains to a minimum?

The general rule of thumb is to use insulin for about 2-4 weeks straight ( I believe it is about a total of 28 days of use during one insulin usage period) and then take 2-4 weeks off to avoid insulin dependence. I have heard of people going longer with no problem, but I, personally, would not recommend it. You should time your usage throughout your cycle that PCT falls during the time that you are on insulin, to fight catabolism.

Insulin is a drug that takes some getting used to, to be able to perfect it to the point where you can keep BF off or even lose it, IMO. To keep fat storage to a minuimum, you just take in just enough carbs carbs to keep you out of hypo while it is active in your body (usually about 6-8 g of carbs/iu, but i would start out at 10g/iu), and that is all. Also, you try to keep fat almost non-existent during insulin's window of activity. This time will depend on what kind you are using (ie: humolog~4hrs., humalin R~A lot longer, but i am not sure exactly how long, bump for einstein) To keep fat storage to a minimum, a lot of people also do extra cardio, but this won't be necessary if you carb intake is perfect and your have pretty much no fat during its activity.

Like spound said, the general rule is 4 weeks on/off, but that is a generalization. Humalog (insulin lispro) has been shown to still provide insulin effects in people with extreme insulin-resistance and has therefor been claimed to, itself, not lead to insulin resistance at the same rate that any other insulin does. I'd still keep it to 4-5 week cycles though, and again, like spound said, try to time things so that you'll be using insulin during pct.

Spound also summed up increasing LBM and not fat on insulin. It all comes down to a perfect intake of carbs and eliminating fat intake during the insulin activity period.
