Wondering what kinda split you guys use when on cycle since recovery time is so vastly improved. 1 day a week rest or 2? Can You even overtrain on cycle? What would be considered under training on cycle? I run two hours long on some days which i would not do off cycle. Shit when that test hits me hard enough i have gone to the gym twice in one day.

It varies, but normally 1 day a week. Even on that day, I'll hit light cardio, then the sauna, Jacuzzi/cold plunge depending on how I'm feeling. If you're eating right, and sleeping well on cycle, there is no overtraining.

1 day off wether on cycle or off. For 20 years this has been me. Why work harder when your on compared to when Your off? You should be pushing harder being off so you won't loose what you've gained. I watch a lot of guys get big on cycle then when there off they get floppy titties and flappy wings. Fuck I eat and lift to get big and stay that way. I made a choice in my life along time ago that this is the life I'm going to live. I may not be the strongest or leanest but I will give my 100% all the time to me.

Like any other time you have too listen to your body. IMO, you can still over train while on cycle.

Def. It's all about what you condition your body and CNS for...

Rest anywhere from 1-3 days a week when on. I might lift only 3 days a week when off. Depending on what's going on in life and the programming I'm using. Doesn't take much to maintain muscle if diet is right IMO

About to go deficit and thinking of switching to 3-4 day a week program

Your right about listening to your body, i have a job that can be very physically demanding. Ive found pushing my self to the gym on days like these can acutally be detrimental to making gains in the gym. Even when on cycle.

2 on hard and 2 off. Maybe one light day on when supposed to be off if sleep and nutrition has been good. Proper rest for recovering gets so little attention, but is very important.

Good point about rest. I think how you lift. What you eat and the volume/frequence you eat. Rest recovery time all have to really be in check to make serious gains at the gym, on cycle or off. Man does not get huge off only using one or two of these, whey protien is overrated, food is king!

My current regimen is 1 day on, 2 days off, full body routines with 1 work set per body part followed by 1 High intensity technique per body part. It may be a static hold for 1 minute, an extreme stretch, or partial blasts for a ridiculous number of reps. It's a level of strength and control that is downright fucking scary due to increased recovery. The way I train is so different than anyone else in the gym. This is super advanced and you really need to know your body, but I don't do warm up sets. My reps are so slow and controlled that the first couple reps in the set are the warmup in themselves. For example, I may do a hammer strength incline machine and start right off with 4 plates per side and do it for 5 reps, but each rep is a 6 second negative and an additional 6 second positive. As soon as I'm finished I will drop to 2 plates per side and do reps faster, as my muscles get more volumized and heated the reps will get faster and faster, this is my volumization "max blast reps" at the tail end of my HIT set, so my high intensity technique is my max blast reps. CHEST IS DONE!! Then onto the next bodypart, until
I've done about 8 different exercises that cover my entire body. The next exercise may be triceps, and my HIT technique might be something like an extreme stretch at the tail end of a set of overhead db extensions, holding 1 db with both hands. Or I may go straight into a 1 minute dip, taking 30 seconds to go up, and another 30 seconds to go down. When you train like this you can absolutely smash it every workout and feel like a God. But no way you could handle it everyday

i actually asked jim wendler about this via email or maybe it was a comment in a thread on his webpage i cant remember

he said gear shouldnt change your training
which seemed weird to me but dude is a pretty big name in the world of strength training and def has way more experience with gear than i do

i ran wendler 531 during my first cycle and couldnt of hoped for better results
ill likely be doing a variation of 531 during my upcoming cycle
maybe some extra arm work since mine bum me out

The 5/3/1 system or variations very similar have been around for your years. It is excellent for improving strength. However, after personal use, it opens the doors to potential injuries too much for me. Besides, I can careless about picking up the bus. I just want to LOOK like I can pick up the bus! ;)
