I noticed there seems to be no shortage of metalheads here (metal goes well with mesos "main theme"). Just judging by some links/profile pics etc.

I live in "the land of Dimebag Darrell", I'm actually super diverse, old school outlaw country, some hardcore rap, shit even mo-town and couple Michael Jackson songs (don't kill me, you know "Man in the Mirror" is good shit) Rob Bailey (Dana Linn's husband) has some killer shit too ("The Motherfuckin BEAST") if you missed the boat on Rob Bailey, check out "The Beast", "Hold Strong", "Never Settle", type the name of the song with "workout motivation" behind and get ready to get high off that shit.

But my go-to, meat and potatoes is Hardcore metal. Pantera is my top dog, and from there shit gets heavier... Crowbar, Sepultura, Slayer, Obituary, Six Feet Under...

Slayer, metallica and black sabbath all came first and is the father of everything current we love. You could even go back further but those are the big 3.
I'm not a music snob I like some things that aren't down with "metal"
For example
I like some nickel back songs. Don't like it? Come tell me so
Some of that poppy hair metal shit wasn't too bad neither.

I never sold out when the rap resurgence came. I'm as loyal as they come. I'm eagerly waiting on this new metallica album. Hopefully James gets his shit together

Hopefully their is some actual creativity in those bands. Where craftsmanship meets musicianship. I've made it a point to stay away from stuff like that cuz everytime I hear it or see it it just seems...horrible.

You know hetfield wrote all his songs? Every fucking one them. You couldn't find a better songwriter. Powerful and capable of delivering a msg thru lyrics. An art many do not have

Damn man, I'm just going to pick a couple, because I could go ALL FUCKING DAY commenting on the bands you posted.

But to keep it fast: I can't believe you've heard of Devourment! As I'm sure you know they're from Dallas. I went to HS with the original vocalist Wayne Kunup (he passed away) but if you've heard the classic song "Baby KIller", that's Wayne. Still run that song in the lineup occassionally.

Broken Hope: If you love them in the studio, you're life is incomplete if you haven't seen them live... They're fucking destroyers! My wife and I saw them open for Obituary last year, and their live sound is the epitomy of what it's all about.

\Fuck, I knew I couldn't comment on just two! I had the pleasure of seeing Morbid Angel (Rapture and Where the Slime live get constant play with me) open for Pantera. Phil came out and did a song with them. Seen Cannibal, solid of course and SFU.
Arch Enemies old singer was a beast of a bad ass woman.
