How to make a quality logo for personal training business?

I'm about to be a qualified PT, and when I am, I want to update my Insta to become my business page, and start wearing my own merch to promote my business. I've chosen a name and slogan for it, which is subject to change, but I'm finding it hard to design a logo. I've used a few different free logo generators but I'm not fancying any of them.

Anyone got any advice?

Chances are you'll quickly land a client who does graphic design, there's so many people out there with some level experience in that. Trade a session with them for the logo design

That sounds like a good idea. I've already had someone reach out to me and said once I'm working at my local gym they'll join and be my client. They're a closet CD so there's a 90% chance they're into something computing lmao

For someone that does any sort of graphic design, doing a simple logo is a super easy job for them and they're usually excited to help out

id just pull one off google, the better question, this business is this a FT or just a side gig to make $$? every trainer I ever met drove a focus and the ones with any $$ were dealing to their clients until their arrest.

I personally don't think its a wise investment on time and energy but would be interested in hearing more. I and many others have an undergrad in exercise science all of us opted to do something completely different to make $$, the smart ones became physical therapists but that many years of school

It's going to be currently part time alongside my full time job and depending on success, moving into full time. I'd be employed by Anytime Fitness after my course is done and I'd be doing it outside of that as well online in my spare time.

I'll ask the manager of the gym if he knows if any of the members do graphic design at all then speak to them, otherwise I may make a Facebook/Insta post. Either way I'll find someone. Thanks for the help

Use the “contest” feature.

Give some description and let dozens (sometimes hundreds) of artists submit proposals for your contest. You dont pay anything unless you pick a winner. You can then talk privately with the winner to refine the design they submit to your tastes.

This is the best way. Ive used this before and was able to flush out an artist who really “got” what i wanted. Had dizens of guys submitting artwork for my contest.

I have some advice, but you are not going to like it.

Shelve the logo idea and just work on building revenue the old fashioned way.

Revisit the logo idea in the future, when you are making real money and have some time to worry about the things that just do not matter all that much.

These cart before the horse things are why folks are all worried about things like setting up an LLC before they have even made their first ten grand.

It's a distraction from the real business, and it makes you feel like you are building something when in reality you are avoiding building something real. I hope that last sentence makes sense.

That does make complete sense, but I'm not planning on waiting to do the actual work before I make the logo, I just want my brand live as soon as I can. Either way the actual work is more important to me.

That's a great idea. Never heard of that website. I'll take a look at it, thank you.

Personal training is an absolute terrible career choice nowadays, and “degree possessing” trainers/strength coaches usually don’t make shit either. Physical therapist sounds great till you realize that one day you’re trying to fit some geriatric, pissed off fuck in a wheelchair who is cursing at you.

Training for a gym is such a shit job it’s not even funny, and most degree possessing “real trainers” are even worse than the ones who took the online cert classes, hahahaa.

I train ppl myself online, not for a gym and not for payment per session. I get the money up front, I let my training cert expire a long time ago. If you’re basing your decision on what kind of certification I hold then I’m not the right guy for you anyways. It’s part time money, I do the programs, diets and drug stacks and clients message on a messenger app and we communicate as needed. But as far as training in person out of a gym? FUCK NO! I’ve been there and done it and it sucks ass!

You’ll realize real quick the money is inconsistent, ppl waste your time, everyone shows up late, and something you once loved now becomes someplace you don’t wanna be.

Well I don't think I'll ever believe that 100% until I go through it myself. I would prefer to do online training, but I want to get experience in general first. As I'd be directly employed by anytime fitness I'll get regular pay, but I'm not sure how their comission structure works, but I'd be doing this after my full time job.

I'm planning on putting a lot of work to make sure I get as much good results for clients as possible to slowly build my client base, expand more onto online when I have a bigger online presence, and see where it goes from there, as I currently think that if money was no object, I'd still like to do 1 on 1 coaching in person at least sometimes.

This is a not so nice way of saying what I was alluding to. personal trainer, janitor, used car salesman, shit jobs, long hours, little pay, no respect. Even the real ones, strength coaches and athletic trainers for college teams, work long hours and make shit money.

It’s definitely hit and miss, expect about 10 quitters for every 2 good clients. From my experience, as soon as they see the reality of it all in terms of diet commitment and discomfort, they probably think to themselves ,”maybe this isn’t something I really want to do.”

What you need to learn is that YOU can’t want it more than they want it. Statistically most are going to quit and get sub-par results at best. And don’t load the weights for them, as soon as you begin doing that you’re seriously fucking up! You make those lazy fucks adjust the machines and load plates themselves! In all honestly, training in person made me hate fatties even more

Theme forest.

DO NOT use something created by someone else which you find on the web.
You'll lose your ass in legal fees just as you're beginning to make money.

And, Yes. Do brand yourself. Logo, website and all the shitty social channels people use.

Potential clients expect it.

I don't think he should be doing PT in the first place to make $$, but if he did and for whatever reason wanted a logo, thats a risk but a small one. Every high school in my county is using a NFL team logo, all mine did. I guess my fantasy football team is going to get me sued lol

I do it for living and so many companies - eventually - get a letter from some legal firm, requesting they not only cease using this, that or the other, but requesting compensation.

It's just not worth it.

This exactly, and it blows, as i waited long to realize. Dammit. This to a T. Personal training is only good as a side job.
