How to start HGH for HRT?

I've never used HGH before but want to add it as an adjunct to my HRT. Should I start with 1 unit daily for awhile and then go to 2 (which is my desired level - pending IGF 1 levels) or just start 2 units day one?

IGF will tell the story. I've gotten the impression 1iu may result in a lower overall GH levels by inhibiting natural production without replacing it sufficiently.

2iu seems a common anti-aging dose.

I'm sure someone will chime in on that.

1iu (unless it's Pharma) won't do anyting, 2iu is pretty standard for anti-aging. But really depends on what you expect out of it.

HGH is the long game unless it's being used in a cycle, during a cut, of for healing. For anti-aging, there's more cost-effective better things you can do.

Either way assuming you'll go with a generic, make sure it's a vetted, tested one, check your HGH/IGF-1 prior so you'll know it's working. If you're going to buy a couple hundred iu's, get one tested. OR you do the ghetto test many of us have done which is pinning an entire 10iu vial, waiting 3-4hrs and then get your HGH levels checked.

Start with 1IU/day and run for a week or so then increase to 2IU.

2 IU is a replacement dose for me (verified by IGF-1). I don't know if there is benefit to just replacing what you have already (others can chime in).

3IU gave me a little bump in IGF-1 which is what I wanted.

What time of day and do you split doses?

1-3IU I did all AM before breakfast. I've seen some stuff about timing GH away from meals to help avoid insulin resistance but I didn't bother. You might want to search for information about that if IR might be a problem for you.

Make sure you get IGF-1 blood work before you start.

This is what I did.
I started at 2.4iu taken at night. 5 weeks later my IGF-1 had went down. I bumped it up to 3.6iu and 5 weeks later my IGF-1 went up over 100 point. You will also want to run your estrogen higher to get max IGF-1.

Also, I found splitting the dose to be less effective than taking before bed. This could be just my body or the fact I train fasted first thing in the morning.

I learned a lot from this thread.

My natty IGF-1 is 173

If you shoot the full dose at night, when do you get the blood done to see your igf-1?

If you don't mind sharing, what were your IGF-1 levels on 2 and 3 IU/d?

Baseline: 180
2IU: 184
3.3IU: 225
4IU: 352

2-3.3IU was just single dosing per day. I wanted to test 3.3IU on split AM/PM dosing but was unable to. I was thinking maybe splitting the dose AM/PM would increase IGF-1 by not putting so much of a load on the liver at one time. It looks like it is possible this theory bears out on the 4IU because I split that AM/PM and got a big jump in IGF-1 over the 3.3IU single dose.

Can anyone else comment on if splitting the dose increases their IGF-1 over just a single dose?

I think 3 up to 3.5 or 4iu is the sweet spot for most people. I personally love running 3.5 which puts my IGF at 300.

Yep, I spoke to an endo, all the blood work he had seen showed higher IGF 1 with split dosing. Pretty significant too, somtimes upwards of 50%, but it varies. Definitely split if you want more bang for your buck.

His recommendation for anti aging was staying in the range of 400 IGF 1, or if you wanted to keep it really safe, go down to 300 instead.
