I need calories

I'm using lots of chicken and tuna and whey protien to eat about 250gs of protien a day. I'm getting enough protien and enough carbs but I am a serious hard gainer and I'm not really seeing the results I want. I'm wondering what healthy foods are packed with useful calories. I think I am going to try eating more steak and eggs but I'm having trouble bulking up. BTW, I drink ProLabs N-large, its a good weight gainer but I need to get some serious calories from some real food. Whats good for this?

I have been eating raisins and Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches between meals along with the N-Large. I'm up 10 pounds in 3 weeks. I have never gained this much so quick.

There was a long ol' thread about PB and J sammiches a while back...maybe in nutrition?

Anyways, a few of these a day (natural peanut butter - NO TRANS FATS) will help you up your calories (fairly clean) and it's not a food you have to force yourself to eat.

Go for a gallon of milk a day...noe of this half a day jazz. :)

Good luck!

I have been thinking of drinking a gallon of milk a day, but I worry about too much calcium. Anyone had any problem with stones because of too much milk?

burgers and fries are great for hard gainers. steak and eggs everyday for breakfast. meatloaf and potatoes. salmon (incredibly high in protein and good fats) 3x per week. pbj sandwiches are great but don't forget to throw a couple of tablespoons of pb into your protein shakes as well. stuff thy face! :D

if you have stones from too much calcium I'd eat prunes. They taste great and keep my shit going.

that N-Large shit isn't worth a damn that is probaly your problem I would switch to the Isopure meal replacement.

I eat 2 peanut butter sandwiches befoe bedtime w/ a lot of milk and this usually helps. Other than that, lots of potatoes, gravy, steak, etc. and throw everything you can into those shakes such as oatmeal, yogurt, fruit, peanut butter, and anything else!!

I disagree. I really love the N-Large as a supplement. I have 6 eggs for breakfast along with 1 shake. That totals around 85 grams of protein before 7am and a bunch of carbs. What I have discovered from reading up and from my own experience is that you always have to be eating. Whether it be 2 apples, raisins, PBJ's, protein shakes, etc just keep eating and eating and your weight will increase. I am extremely pleased with this current cycle of mine.

it gave me gas and indigestion so bad that I could not sleep at night, try out Isopure it has 300 calories, 50 grams protein, 75 carbs and it is also fortified with 5 grams of glutamine.

You can tell the quality of a meal replacement when you stir it; if it clumps up then it is made with all a bunch of fillers and shit. I have to question if there is really that many carbs, protein, and calories.

N-large is good stuff. There isn't much you can tell me to make me believe otherwise because it has worked for me. I was talking to one of my friends and he recommended an easy way to gain weight: drink your body wieght in gs of protien in shakes everyday and then eat normally throughout the day. I've tried doing this and I have gained 2 lbs without juice in the past few days. That way, you are already getting a good amount of calories and protien from the shakes and it leaves room to eat clean foods with fewer calories like chicken and tuna and such. I need to start eating more potatoes too, I only eat them like 3 times a week...

Meat=Chicken, Beef, Turkey, Fish\ 1-2 lbs. meat per day
Carbs=Pasta, Potatoes, Rice, Oatmeal\ 4-6 servings carbs per day
Veggie=Salad, Cucumber\ 2-4 servings veg per day
Fruit=Bananas, Oranges\ 2-4 servings veg per day
Sides=Peanutbutter, Chilli, Tunafish, Etc.
Fluids=Whole milk 1\2 gallon per day, Juice, WATER 1-2 gallons per day

Six Real Meals a day

+ 160 - 240 grams protein shakes per day

Go with Peanut Butter and Jelly. I always tell people that when looking for extra calories, plus there so easy to eat. Plus if your that much of a hard gainer , your going to have to eat some fatty foods, unless your ready to eat a shitload of healthy food.
