If anyone is looking for whatman syringe filters...

I believe those are non sterile. I see they have a listing for sterile ptfe as well tho around $27

This is not true but has been passed along on these boards repeatedly.

Will the end product be fine? Most likely, but you only need one bad batch.

Those filters are inferior, I have some and would never recommend them.

Well damn , I'm glad I put it out there then cause you're right , I have read that in a lot of different threads, glad you said something . Now I know . thanks

I got bag of 100pcs sterile 0.2u nylon filters, from local producer. Pretty cool works well

10ml? You can push 100ml through them

Sounds like you guys are talking in terms of home brewing. I was thinking along the lines of transferring liquid gear you get from a UGL and transferring in to sterile vials of my own.

In that case, how do you guys transfer your gear? Say you have 6 vials of deac, 6 vials of Test, 6 vials of Mast, etc, etc... I can use that same one filter for all those individual vials? What size syringe do you use?

Get a 60cc syringes, suck up all your deca, put a filter on and then go to the new vials

Understood. And much appreciated.

Also, have you see the 10ml sterile vials on MedLabGear site? There are 25 vials for $35. Only thing it appears the don't have a cap. I understand how that can as they are "ready to use". BUT, i was thinking, once i fill a vial, its been punctured, and if i store it for several months, i just feel like there is once aspect to sterility compromised.

My question is, is there a way to cap the vial for storage? Or is that that initial puncture insignificant?

That puncture is insignificant. You will insert a 23g needle to vent air out and an 18g needle to fill from your syringe filter. Quality stoppersole the ones on their product are "self healing". So yes you puncture it but there isn't a hole for a trying to sneak in through

That flip top cap is more just for a final end user. Like if you sold stuff, the guy buying is going to want a vial he knows hasn't been punctured

Fucking details!!!!

Why do you want to filter gear that’s already made? If I was thinking that’s a necessity then I wouldn’t be getting stuff from that source anymore.

You’ll probably want at least 2-3 filters depending on if you care whether you get a little of each one mixed together.

You can use a 10ml syringe to do each vial individually, it will be less clumsy and you won’t need a caulking gun.

Put a needle on the non locking end of the filter and put it in your vial. Then put an extra needle in there to bleed the air as you add filtered oil to relieve pressure, don’t worry nothing will fall in. This way you can draw from each vial and then take the pin off and attach to filter and push it into the new vial. This is how I do small test batches.

I have 4 weeks remaining of my 16 week blast, as I’m going through vials of my stash, I noticed a couple vials had what looked like floaters. Could be the stopper, but these are still capped. So I figured either toss them out or filter them. Also, dealing with UGLs, regardless of who or how great, they are still ugl, right? Also, I have read some brother that are adamant about safely say that they filter everything.i don’t know how true that is. Sounds like a lot of extra work, but I don’t know, just learning as I go and willing to spend a little extra to further assure safety.
