If my sperm test comes back as normal, is there any reason that stopping steroids use would improve fertility?

Basically my wife and I have been having trouble conceiving and have only done so once (ended in miscarriage) and that's when I had come off gear as I was BnC for 3ish years no HCG. I had gone back on after that and was taking HCG throughout.

A few years in on BnC with 250iu HCG EoD I got a sperm test done as well were struggling to conceive again even with ovulation testing and my sperm came back normal.

8 months ago I came off gear completely to see if that improved anything as the only time we did conceive was when I was natty, but I am wondering if there's any reason for me to be off considering my sperm test came back as normal when on.

The reasons I want to go back on is because of the reasons I went on in the first place, I was suffering from Low T symptoms (minor depression, trouble sleeping, issues gaining muscle, etc as my test levels were low (though in the normal range ~300ng/dl) and since coming off my libido has dropped drastically and my wife and I have very little sex at all now because of my lack of libido. I've had my testosterone levels tested two months ago and they are definitely back to normal levels, very slightly higher than last time I got tested natty so it's not like I haven't recovered.

Basically I want to know if me going back on gear would negatively affect fertility in any way even if I take HCH throughout and my sperm tests come back normal?

Short answer is yes it can still effect fertility. I just got done being natty and forgot how much low T sucks. I started 12.5mg/d enclomiphene as my only supplement, and my labs came back at over 900ng/ml. It definitely doesn't feel the same as test trt, but it'll erase most of the symptoms and make you extremely fertile.

There are a bunch of more detailed fertility posts on here. Look through my post history to make it easy. Run enclomiphene, or enclomiphene +hcg. There's no reason to be back 100% natty. Low t is a big contributing factor to low fertility. Good luck.

I just got the results back from the doctors after requesting the more detailed results from my old sperm test and it showed that even though at that point I had been on gear for 15 months, and only taking HCG at 250iu EoD, my fertility should have been more than high enough to conceive.

I'm going to be having another sperm test done soon to test for current levels as I'm natty now, but seeing this makes me think the issue was more to do with my wife rather than me, and if that's the case then there's no reason for me not to go back on gear to improve my libido if I can actually maintain a high enough level of fertility.

I'll be taking more sperm tests on my own when I go back on to ensure fertility as well because if it turns out I can't maintain a high enough level, I'll just have to come off anyway.

At this point you want to transition very carefully to getting your wife worked up. You have good numbers, morphology, and motility. You are most likely not the problem. She could have underlying issues such as uterine fibroids or endometriosis which could hamper conception. I’m not an expert by any measure but did go through IVF with my wife due to both those issues. I also had a ZERO sperm count when I came off Testosterone after 7-8years on with HCG run alongside.

For me once I knew IVF was the way forward I came off and did a HPTA restart. Total of 8 months off. Regained sperm in 3 months. Stayed off until wife was 6-7 months along and we had extra embryo’s in storage. Due to our ages I didn’t want to pro long the process or god forbid we lost the baby have ANY doubt my a TRT use was a contributing factor. Once I got the ok and script thru the urologist that first pin was Glorious! Best of luck to the both of you on this endeavor. Fatherhood is one of the greatest things life has to offer, I sincerely hope you get to experience it sir!
