injection problem--need help!

I was wondering if this ever happened to anyone else: Last Thursday, I injected my outer quad with 1cc of test. I went lower than I normally do, but still in safe territory. Well, when I pulled the pin out, dark red blood started spilling out so I applied pressure and checked it every couple minutes to see if the bleeding stopped. It took about 5 minutes, but at that point it had slowed down to almost nothing. This all happened right before my leg workout.

So off to the gym I went and undertook an absolutely brutal leg workout. Then I came home and lay down for a while. The next day I was fine, but on Saturday I could feel my leg knotting up. It's happened before, no big deal--I figured it'll get worse and then I'll be fine in a few days. Well on Sunday, it's REAL knotted and painful and I look down at my quad and it's all distorted. It almost looks like my vastus lateralis is not there at the knee insertion. I think it's because there is so much blood in the muscle belly in my upper outer quad that it's literally pulling the muscle out of proper position. And it looks like there is fluid (I'm sure it's blood) around the knee as well, but the knee is not painful. The upper outer quad is swollen, hard and painful but I have no symptoms of an abcess. It feels like there is a softball in there!

I guess my question is this--do you think that I hit a vein (obviously), it bled internally--especially after I did my leg workout increasing the amount of blood, then laying down caused ot to pool in my upper quad and stretch the fascia to the point of distortion (almost like squishing a water-balloon unevenly)? Is that possible? And do you think it will drain away by itself or will I have to have it drained? I've been applying both heat and ice for short durations and gentle effleurage to pain tolerance. LMK what you boys think and THANK YOU in advance!

How did you treat it? Did you go to the doc, or wait it out?

Joker, I've been injecting for twenty years. I've done every dumbass thing possible.
IMHO, It should start going down with in 24-48 hours. If it looks any worse in that time go see your doc!
I think it's fluid, but not all blood. If it was bleeding your lower quad (around knee) would be turning all kinds of colors.
I once had my Gluteas Minor (spelling?) swell up to like triple it's normal size. It took weeks to return to normal. I still don't know what I did.

JMHO, please! keep us informed.
That old graybass..
