Injection Problem

Last week when I did my injection - I pulled the needle out and a fair amount (definately not all of it) of the oil came back out. In the future what can I do to preven this. I put the base of the needle flush with the skin and am injecting in to my upper thigh area. I believe my needles are about 2". Thanks

2"? Surely not. What does the wrapper for the syringes say? Something like 25G1 1/2 ?

To prevent the oil from coming out, you can use the z-track method of injection. It is a very simple concept. Before doing the injection, pull the skin just a bit in whatever direction you like. Do the injection. After you pull the needle out, let go of the skin. This way, the hole in the skin will not be over the hole in the muscle.

I'll look for sure when I get home 2" was a total guess - maybe that is just how long it looks in my mind. The z-track method sounds like the deal for me. That will ensure it all stays in for sure. Thanks for the reply.

i would use a 1" pin, 25 gauge in the outer quad & middle delt & a 1.5" pin, 23 or 25 gauge in the glutes. z track to stop oil leakage and dont forget to aspirate before you inject to make sure you're not in a vein.

I tried a 1" 25 gauge in the outer quad - using z-track last night and it worked like a charm, no leakage at all. The injection site is more sore than usual this afternoon. I am going to do z-track from now on, should have thought of that a long time ago. Out of curiousity what are the rest of you guys getting your Watson Cypionate for price wise - I just shelled out $103.00 at the local pharmacy for a vial (insurance will not cover it -- but did cover Androgel).

That is crazy that the insurance company will cover Androgel but not the testosterone cypionate. I would be curious to hear your insurance companies explaination.

WalMart charges $101 for the Watson stuff, I think, so you are getting a fair price. Walgreen's appears to charge $106.99 but they also offer 30mL for $278.69 (anyone know if this is 1 or 3 vials?). Costco is supposed to have very good pharmacy prices.

You know what the kicker is? My copay for 5 months of Androgel - $200. 5 months of test-cyp is half of that and insurance refuses to pay for it or the pins.

You guys are paying that much for test? It's cheaper from an underground lab than that...ridiculous.

An underground lab does not offer human grade medication, never mind that it is illegal. Why get an inferior product and risk going to jail only to save a few bucks?

$105 for one 10ml vial of 200mg/ml, but they didn't charge me for any of the syringes. On a side note and a small thread hi jack. I gave myself my first shot tonight, it was completely painless and I had no leakage like the original thread poster, just two tiny drops of blood. For me the hardest part was being confident that I was injecting into the correct area. I shot into the glute, kind of hard to twist around do, but now that the anxiety of the first shot is over, I will feel more confident doing them in the future. Also, I am only using 23g 1" needles, why is everyone else using such long needles?

EDIT: for clarity

Because everyone else's ass is fatter than yours! :D Sorry I couldn't resist the opportunity for humor. It's because the glute has a thicker layer of fat over it than the quads. The needle has to pass through the fat and into the muscle. 1" needles are fine for quads, but the prevailing wisdom says 1 1/2" for glutes.
