Injection site failure.

Just wonder if anyone else has experienced this. Quads have always been in my rotation. This last cycle about half way through I started getting pip after never having any. No change in compounds or location. Now every time I pin quads it’s like a nasty dead leg for a few days. Is it me or is this something that’s has happened to others. I feel like I’ve read about this before but I can’t remember if there were any causes to it.

Not sure what causes it.
But I find if I rotate my rotations (lol) it prevents this.

Example, few months of delt heads and lats(while my quads and glutes are resting) then switch

Obviously this can be any combination, glutes lats, quads delts and so on

Yeah I thought about doing that. I think I’ll stick it out till the end but when I get back to trt I’ll stay away from quads for a few months. Just curious on what went wrong. I hit a pretty big vein in one leg not to long ago and that was a mess but that doesn’t explain the other leg.

My quad injections started doing the same thing. Like it would feel as if I was going to tear the muscle when I stretched my quads. I actually had to stop about 2/3 of the way from completely stretching my left one because it really felt as if something bad was about to happen if I went any further.
All of my quadricep injections were in the rectus femoris muscle at that time. It hurt so bad that I haven't used the rectus femoris in over 3 months.
I started using the vastus lateralis muscle for my quadricep injections; and it has been pain free for 3 months.
All same compounds, same batch of homebrew; so there is no variable in compound. Just for some reason my rectus femoris did not like injections.

Had something similar for the the first time recently. Wasn’t your typical pip, and was only painful if I stretched or rubbed downward on my quad. It seemed to be really concentrated in one area, more so than typical pip and felt like a rubber band was going to pop.

Never had what you've mentioned happen. Had scar tissue, where it feel's like you're trying to inject into a rock.

Also had, what i'm assuming is a left over depot(?) Where it feel's like i'm penetrating a grape (something round and soft) as i get the last little bit of the needle inserted. Hard to explain, it's such strange feeling.

What happens when you hit it? Just curious

Typical pain on needle penetration. No real issue injecting but major soreness for a few days after. The above posts are pretty good descriptions after injection. Nothing has changed that’s what’s weird about it.

I get the exact same thing, and only in my quads . There's like 1 square inch I can inject without either the having pain when pushing the needle in, or some bad sensations while injecting and then pip . To the point where I almost skip quads. I can't even touch my left quad.

I hit delts all day long .

We're growing boys :rolleyes:o_O:rolleyes: so I'd say there's nerve growth, along with scar tissue. And I only inject with 28-29ga slin pins.

On my right quad everytime I try to pin it I can't even penetrate the skin. As soon as the VERY tip enters the skin it's painful as fuck and bleeds. I'm talking like a 16th of an inch in.... Never figured out why.

My left quad does that. I usually plan my squat day around my quad injections. I need to leave at least 2 days between left quad injection and squat day. If i don’t, it just doesn’t feel right. It won’t fire like it usually does and I end up with knee pain throughout the workout.

When you guys inject quadriceps; are you injection the anterior (front) of your thigh?
That position for injection, assuming it is in the middle third of the anterior thigh, will always be in the rectus femoris.
Injecting the vastus lateralis requires you to inject directly sideways into the middle third of the thigh, about half-way between the hip and knee. That is the technique I used after the rectus femoris pain; and it has worked well.
The vastus lateralis injection is only slightly awkward in position; but it does seem odd when I first injected myself there. I have given countless injections to other people there, but it was weird doing that injection on myself.

This describes my experience exactly.

I always put my palm on my hip and inject where my middle finger lands on the outside of my quad. And I go straight in.

That should be ventrogluteal (gluteus medius) if I am imagining the same landmark you are describing.

Fingers down. Like if you're standing find your hip bone with your palm and your middle finger should be in the area that is good for injection. I forget where I saw it. But it seems to be a good spot to do it.

Ok, that makes sense. Yeah that should be vastus lat.
Same one I use and works great for me.

Every time I try to look up info on the ventri glute it always shows me how to find it on someone else. Then I came across someone I think on here that said to stand up straight and shift your weight back and forth from one leg to the other. There is a muscle close to the hip that will flex and that’s the ventri glute. I tried that and it still hurt. The pain travels to. It doesn’t really hurt at the injection site it but rather the surrounding area.
