Hi all,

I have been lurking for a while. Still have a bunch more research to do but I'm getting familiar with all of this.

Question I have is whether I should be thinking about this in the short term or not. Most things I read say to not think about gear until you have worked out for at least five years. But I'm not a kid anymore unfortunately.

Here is my story. I'm 42. 5'10" 180. When I was in my early 20's I got a chronic condition that screwed me up big time. Until two years ago I was pretty much always sick and any time I tried to work out it made things worse.

I'm now better and have been working out since. I started really slow since my body was so effed up but I have gotten in a good groove since and am finally starting to see progress. But I'm still small and it is frustrating. I'm starting from such a bad place.

So I guess the question is should I still wait some years? I can certainly get bigger than I am now without it. I have a LONG way to go. But I feel like if I wait that long I'm in my mid 40's and it all gets that much tougher.

Appreciate comments and I'm thankful to be learning about this from you guys.

Welcome to Meso. I suggest you look harder at your nutrition and training plans. Good luck. Lots of info here.

Hey steve321 welcome to meso!!! I agree with the above but have you considered getting bloods done to find out what your test levels are ? Might be low in which case trt may be an option.
But if all is well then i would suggest the same as ebkallday.
Good luck[emoji4]

Yes I am due to see the doctor soon and I am going to ask him to run a test. I would imagine my levels have fallen with age.

I drastically changed what I eat about 6 months ago and I think that is pretty good now. I also think my training is good and very consistent.

I think I was just starting from such a bad place it is hard to be happy with my progress even though it is noticeable.

What was your ailment that you were so sick, for so long? You may not be a good canidate for steroids, not saying you aren't, but i'd be concerned....

And welcome to meso

That is something I hadn't thought of Jake.

An inflammatory bowel disease. Pleasant stuff. Lol.

Sounds pleasant, lol nothing I'd know about, but i'll bet somebody here will have some input, better to be safe than sorry for sure....
