So yall. All of my other labs are completely fine.
Just got my iron checked due to all these symptoms I’ve been dealing with for months.
-
Arm weakness. Left Calf pain. Extremely Winded after any small physical activity. High heart rate. Dizzy. Weak. Dry skin. Restless legs. Ear ringing.
Any sort of lifting or difficult physical activity such as stairs, moving, lifting heavy object etc… My heart feels like it’ll beat out of chest. And I’m very weak and dizzy. Takes about an hour for the weakness to go away.
The list goes on. Not lying.

Im 27 6’3 225.
Only on TRT dose 150 a week. No red meat. No supplementation.
I’ve been dealing with these symptoms off and on for years.

Doctor said my labs are fine. And to stop having so much iron. I don’t… haven’t taken any supplements in 2 months due to my issues.
36 ferritin is 6 points away from being declared iron deficient. I should be well over 159 minimum. Or am I wrong?
I donated blood 8 weeks ago. Due to elevated RBC/HEMO/HEMA.
last year my ferritinwas 44 ( no donations)

Your iron and ferritin are fine... not ideal but alright for now. Looks like you are in the middle of recovering your Ferritin stores from donation. You might want to supplement if you donate on a regular basis. Was your CBC fine? Stuff like MCH, MCV, MCHC, and RDW. When those start going out of range, you are getting way behind and need to start supplementing. Actually, what is your HCT right now? Dunno what to say about your symptoms. Sounds kind of thyroid'y to me.

Hemoglobin A1c - 5.4
Eag - 108
Cholesterol all normal.
HDL - 35
TSH - 0.86

Labs before donating- also fasted- during the peak of my issues.

WBC- 6.7 (normal middle)
RBC - 6.1 (high)
Hemoglobin - 18.4 (high)
Hematocrit - 55 ( high - it’s always been around 52-53)

MCH, MCV, MCHC, and RDW.
- All in the middle normal value

Ferritin is depleted from making HGB

pretty much used it all as building blocks to increase your HGB.

People want to try to diagnose shit by breaking down the differential, if you go to most blood specialists, they wont give a shit overall.

So you’re saying my ferritin is indeed depleted?
Like I’ve been saying to my doctor

I’m also sick once again for the 4th time this year. Which can show elevated levels of iron.

Like being my size. You’d expect my ferritin to be at least 100+

if your body is getting signals to create more HGB, it will be depleted.

this isnt bad, nor is it a surprise.

systemic inflammation can cause elevated ferritin, not just a normal illness.

there is nothing surprising, NOR WORRISOME, about your labs

I've been through this for years and can tell you from direct personal experience. Your Ferritin is fine.. at the moment. Start supplementing. If it was close to zero and your blood markers were out of whack, then you'd have legit concerns. But you should get another CBC now, post-donation.

Yeah I’m not worried about my labs. Just the fact I walk around with all these issues. Constantly. And it’s now completely dictating how I can live my life.

Arm/hand weakness. Left Calf pain. Extremely Winded after any small physical activity. I breathe like a fat ass.
High heart rate. Dizzy. Weak. Dry skin. Restless legs. Ear ringing.
Super fatigued and tired

Heart is fine as well

So I pulled more labs.

Didn’t realize at the time for iron to be more accurate you need to be fasted. I pulled that mid day after eating 3-4 times.

Also pulled new CBC and liver/kidney.
WBC will be elevated due to my cold/sinus infection.

Waiting for results

Who said that?

You don't need to be fasted... Ferritin reflects iron stores..

You could take a crap load of ferrous sulfate prior and it won't do shit to ferritin levels

Everything I’m reading I guess?
more so meant my iron, tibc, saturation.

Not ferritin. Those 3 were slightly elevated.
So we’ll see if being fasted affects it or not.

Regardless had to pull some fresh labs for the endo im seeing in 30 mins

Update.
Endocrinologist just printed out 6 pages of lab orders to do.

They’re concerned with a major head injury I had from motocross, my thyroid, and labs.

And the kicker!

After an Ultrasound. My thyroid has nodules all over it. Have to do a biopsy in two weeks.
