Is Subway considered fast food?
In terms of food quality not fast food preparation. Comparing Subway's food quality and all aspects of it to all known fast food chains like McDonalds etc... what do you think? It falls on the same type of garbage/unhealthy foods?

Just curious friend, why do you feel the distinction is important?

There's certainly no reason why you can't eat Subway or your favorite fast food restaurant as long as you adjust daily calories and macro's. You won't see any differences in body composition assuming macros and calories are the same then by eating something you prepared yourself.

Most of these stores have a nutrition section on their website. Take a look and see if there is a place for these foods in your diet in terms of calorie and macro allotment. If you can fit them in I see no reason why you can't enjoy them.

Maybe because food's quality? Preparation methods? and lack of nutrients also. When I was on high school I used to do a part time at Burger King, believe me if I say that there is a big difference between own prepared and fast food.

So is it a stereotype thing? That all people are scared of fast food? Isn't healthy food I hear all the time. They compare it to garbage.

This article is a good example of propaganda and how to spin something to grab people's attention.

The only thing mentioned was calories and sodium. Nothing is compared in the way of vitamins, minerals, fibre etc.

Notice when comparing sandwiches nothing is said about mass? How big is a subway sandwich compared to McDs?

What you eat not where you eat is what affects your health. You can eat unhealthy at any restaurant or at home, the advantage of own prepared is that you supervise quality and preparation I think.

the point is subway is all process meats....processed cheese and up until recently had a shit tonne of questionable chemicals in their bread....its not a secret....theres not a fast food restaurant that is good for you....everything in moderation..

and Jared, can lick the sweat off my balls after leg day...

I love Subway's subs and I go with a basic turkey sandwich with provolone cheese and the fixings with oil and vinegar on wheat bread. Fast yet healthy!

Subs, is so far what I eat when I'm out far from house and don't have anything on hand to fight hunger. I think even though the meats are processed, Subway has a lot of more healthy options that any burger place like Burger King or Wendys. Bread is freshly baked (which doesn't mean healthy)but they give you a lot of choices, like Honey oat, wheat etc... those are my top 2.

lol...your freshly baked bread had fucking same chemicals as yoga mats had...fuck that shit partner..

I just finished a oven roasted chicken sub from subway, shit was good too lol. About that chemical, it is a FDA approved substance for use in food products. Also, I'd be willing to bet that there are quite a few chemicals that are used in both food and non-food items.

I would pick subway over mcdonalds or any other fast food joint anyday. Its def not the highest quality and very processed, but what isnt nowadays. Also I would consider it some what cleaner provided what kind of sub you get.

I'd say fast food. subway spends millions marketing their chain as healthy alternative but in reality it's just not as awful as the burger joints but still bad. You'd be much better off brown bagging homade food with you. As far as a cheat day or even a mental break I choose pizza

Most guys are overly worried about things that aren't going to make a difference in body composition and in most cases performance when it comes to the foods they eat.

Effects on health markers, quality of life, etc is another story but for the most part most guys are getting the majority of their calories from meals they prepared them selves or from whole foods. It is not worth obsessing over these factors unless you are eating a deficient diet, it simply isn't going to be as detrimental as people make it seem.

Most I would bet are only concerned about body composition, and if calories / macros are the same then the effects on body composition are the same. So yes, you can eat your favorite fast food joint. Just adjust daily calories and macros. You aren't going to get any fatter than if you ate something you cooked at home if the calories and macros are the same.

Another thing to keep in mind. Just because a food or diet is 'clean' doesn't mean its healthy or going to improve health markers / quality of life. A diet that consists primarily of white rice and chicken breast is clean, but is it conducive to improving health markers and other factors?
