just scoped.....input please

got the shoulder scoped 2 days ago. supposed to have gone in for a decompression and possibly a lateral repair. anyhow after speaking with the docs assistant today i find out it was much more extensive..he ended up doing 4 different procedures. the assistant says no heavy weights for a year. has anyone experienced this before or know what i can do to speed this up. thanks.
