kidney health

it looks like if you have ckd, taking farxiga or jardiance will do alot in helping to stop or possibly keep you from further damage if you change lifestyle and follow a strict regime, the earlier you catch the ckd the better,,

Lisinopril for BP doubles as a kidney protectant, just 5mg per day. It’s not enough to drop BP dangerously low but it protects the kidneys

I use Jeff Longs Complete Health V3 for organ health. I also use fresh grapefruit juice, beet root, turmeric/curcumin, and roughly 2-3G of fish oil. Has kept my BP in check. Always had elevated creatinine 1.25-1.46 but lift 6 days a week. So my PCP had me see a renal specialist and did a full work up. Cystatin C was 0.7-0.8 and overall GFR of 110. She attributed the elevation to muscle mass and constant training. Whereas the PCP had me shitting my pants thinking I was in stage 3 kidney failure using the creatinine, egfr, and bun math equation.

Bottom line if you’re hypertensive than use whatever means at your disposal to investigate, treat, and prevent damage to your kidneys!!

Side note, but don’t forget to use an online calculator to adjust your estimated eGFR for your actual size. Always had a stable Cys C and Creatinine, but didn’t love seeing my eGFR in the 80s using either metric at my age when I felt like it should’ve been in the low 100s.

Brought it up to my concierge doc and he laughed, told me there’s a reason he never mentioned it. Plugged it into one of those and no matter which equation you use, had me in the 120-130 mark.
