kidney stones

Anyone experienced kidney stones in here before? Just experienced my first ever and my god I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. Pain hit me around midnight literally as I just got into bed to sleep, thought to myself "just stomach pains it'll pass in the next 5 minutes" only to be put down on the bathroom floor for the next 8-10 hours of constant intense pain. Was so bad literally thought to myself a few times that death would of been better option.

I probably put up with 8-10 hours of that pain without meds before I finally decided fuck it ill just go to emergency care and they gave me a few injections and the pain was gone instantly. Thought to myself why didn't I just come sooner.

Anyone else had similar experience?

I have, first one was the worst. Passed it without med intervention and not on purpose. While waiting to see doc had no choice but to pee, passed into a cup. Damn thing bigger than a popcorn kernel and jagged as fuck.

Still get them but able to pass them relatively pain free

How often do you get them now? I kind of have ptsd to go through that again and after the pain stopped how long did it take to actually piss out? were you at the docs because of other symptons relative to it eg pissing blood or because it was still painful passing through the ureter at the time?

Mainly curious to see if maybe mine pissed out (i dont check my pee) or if its just sitting in my bladder still waiting to come out and how long it might take if it is (its hard to find definitive answers on google, so easier to ask someone whos been through it a few times)

I get them a few times a year. I know they are coming as it starts with low back pain, then I feel slight burning when I pee, and sometimes hear it hit the porcelain. These ones I have no issue with.

The bad one I was at work, it was a hot day and I was drinking a ton of water. I went to the bathroom and the pain was so bad I pinched it off. I went to the site nurse who sent me to the doctors office in town. While waiting to be seen the pressure with all the water I had no choice but to pee, so asked for a cup to pee in and went to the bathroom. It near exploded out into the cup with a fair amount of blood.

I went for an ultrasound to see if anymore big ones and they were and still are small enough to pass easily.

How long has it been? Are you peeing normally? No blood? I would assume you have already passed it.

Close to exactly 24 hours ago is when the pain first set on, lasted about 8-10 hours of intense pain in lower back and front then turned into waves of throbbing type pain as well as pressure on my pelvis like I needed to piss all the time (aswell as feeling like i had been kicked in the balls). Finally decided to go doctors and described my symptoms and they instantly let me skip the queue, pissed in a cup for them then they gave me injection to help the pain. This is now about 12 hours ago.

I'm guessing mine is still there because i still have a slight burning when i pee currently and Ive probably drank 3litres in the last 10 hours, but cant seem to do a full stream pee at the moment, more of like 1/4 strength. No blood or anything yet tho.

The burning could be because they stone cut up the urethra on the way so the urine is burning the cuts, at least from my experience

You need to drink atleast a gallon of water a day. You have to drink lemon juice in water everyday (half or whole lemon squeezed). 1 or 2 tablespoons of Apple cider vinegar in a glass of water is also good. Drink it all day, and you need to drink it for weeks or months. Protect your teeth though (use a straw, and rinse mouth after drinking either substance).

anything bigger then a 5mm, technically you can't pass. so if you know it's smaller then such, ask your doctor for Flomax, this will help pass the stone more easily. Preventive? salt, soda pop, anything high in oxalate, peanuts, all berries, chocolate, all, in very low moderation. someone mention lemon juice, good idea, but be careful, to much can aid in causing heart burn etc. Apple cider, good - in general, for gut health, in moderation still. Vitamin D, magnesium and potassium are also good preventive measures. usually if you get one stone, then your more prone to get another one. X-ray once a year is good idea to check.
