Knee problems

Hey brothers,

I recently have been going through some issues and I was looking for some insight before I head to the doctor.

the start of november I decided to spoil myself and stop squatting bare foot and get a pair of romaloes. At this point I have been sqatting 315, deadlifting 365, leg press 1000, and working with a TRX to be able to do pistol squats.

I bought a pair of romaloes and the 1st time I used them for front squats my knees felt weird. It was a small pain but I worked through it and finished. it felt as if the patellas were being streched, and then a dull ache.

I regretted that decision because my knees hurt for a while after. There was no pain from weight bearing like a meniscus injury, and there is no inflammation.

I returned the shoes and ended up moving away. the pain disappreared and I forgot all about it, assuming it wouldnt be an issue after off time.

3.5 months later I started to get back into the consistent lifting and squats are aggravating my knee. Before I never had any issues. I started working out at home with body weight squats and doing high reps, I felt a small pop and some sharp pain, causing me to stop the set; this was in my left knee. The pain doesnt linger it seems to fade quickly but I dont know whats causing it. My form is solid and I have worked up to 315 in the past so Bodyweight should not cause an issue.

Now Ive worked my way back to the RACK and both my knees pop (no pain though) but only the left one tends to ache after working out, as well as higher impact like jumping, down non carpeted stairs...

I am stumped on what this could be, Im terrified that The Romaleos fucked something up in my knee and I cant figure it out. I crave to get back to my 315 squats but this is really depressing me emotionally. Its been a month and I have strength but I have this weakness that is pissing me off.

I have looked into knee injuries but it doesnt really match any of the symptoms, There is no swelling, the right knee makes grinding noise and never did before and the left one makes more noise, sitting in a deep ATG squat with no wieght is very unconfortable and feels as if its pulling something in the knee. (again on left side only.)

To address this I am staking it slow, working alot with a lacrosse ball for trigger point release, foam rolling, and using the bosu ball for stabilization ie single leg deadlifts, body weight squats. been doing this for amonth and I am seeing no progression or improvement. The only thing I can think it might be is tight quads pulling on patella and causing the
knee cap to mis-align and track improperly.

there is alot of knowledge here and I wanted to use it before I throw money @ the doctor. If anyone has any thoughts or questions Im all ears.

Ok so what is the question specifically?

If your asking the million dollars question what is wrong with me, your essentially asking for a diagnosis based on a VERY limited history and absent the benefit of a physical exam.

Nonetheless absent a history of knee trauma take a look at Chondromalacia Patella to determine if your symptoms match those of patients with this condition.
