There was a post on another board about a bust in Canada, and the news article had the following in it:

"The steroid trade occupies a unique place under the law, since having and using steroids is not illegal, but selling them is."

Is this true? It is legal to own and use? I did not think that was the case at all. Is it different in Canada vs. the US?

no it is not legal to own and use steroids in the US. if caught the penalties are not bad compared to other drugs. my buddy got arrested with 2 bottles of test and 1 bottle of deca and he got 6 months probation. that was in west virginia. getdiesel

It is definately not legal to own, have or use steriods in the USA. Most steroids are scheduled drugs and can have very stiff penalties depending on where you are.

The article I read, which quoted a police officer, said it was illegal to sell steroids but not illegal to possess them... in Canada.

Of course everyone knows they are illegal for all concerned, unless obtained through a Dr., here in the States.

this link will take you to the health canada site. this is part of the steroid quiz and says that you can't be arrested for possession, only trafficing.

While it might be legal to have possession of it, I'm sure it is illegal to go through the motions of actually buying it. Funny how that works...
