Long time lurker with a few DNP questions

I've been reading on and off about DNP for about a year now. Finally worked up the balls to give it a trial run, but I have a few preliminary questions:

1) Realistically speaking, what can I expect in terms of fat loss. I know DNP is touted as a miracle drug that lets you lose a pound of fat a day, but that almost never holds true in the logs I have read. I plan on working up from 250mg, no higher than 500mg, for 10-15 days tops.

2) Would it be worth to time to run an oral steroid while also on DNP to prevent muscle loss? I am on permanent TRT, so post cycle recovery is no issue. I know DNP is anticatabolic, but would a stint with a compound like anavar or dbol help preserve muscle, keep my workouts decent, and maybe even accelerate fat loss or help with well-being?

Thanks all, sorry if my q's are noobish.

Depends. How fat are you? How much of a caloric deficit do you plan to run? What's your macro distribution like? Are you active? Do you plan on doing cardio? Lots of variables will help to determine the amount of fat you will lose.

Probably not for the reasons you mention. The only thing I'd add, if you aren't running it, is an EC stack. You are going to be tired on this drug, and workouts will be challenging. An EC stack may help you to maintain the intensity you need so that you hang onto as much muscle as possible. Decreasing the volume (ie - sets/reps) is permissable - but try to keep within 80% + of your 1RM max. (Like you would on any heavy diet.) In addition - you'll probably be done your DNP by the time the orals start to kick in since you've mentioned a 2 weeker.

I'm probably sitting around 17-18% right now (rough visual estimate), 200lbs @ 5'7", decent amount of LBM as I've been competing in powerlifting for a few years now. Was planning on eating2.5- 2.7k with an even macro distribution (33% c/p/f), but I may change the diet a bit if I feel like crap. Not planning on doing any cardio.

I wasn't planning on changing my workout as much as I was planning on changing my exercise selection, eg leg press and RDL instead of squatting, machine chest press instead of bench, etc etc to reduce the stress a bit. Is this permissible?

Sounds good and you'll probably do well. If the machines can meet your 80% of 1RM requirements you should be good to go. I'd much rather use a machine when I'm exhausted/short on time, it just makes it so much faster, and you'll want to get through these as quickly as you can. I wouldn't be surprised it you lost a good 10 lbs of fat in a 2 weeker, provided you keep your food intake under control. The depletion of carbs can give you some cravings lol.

More for safety than anything else. I really don't want to try to squat a 500lb barbell while taking a compound that is rapidly depleting all of my energy sources :p
Thanks for the estimate, it's quite a bit higher than I was expecting, so now I'm even more excited to run!

Another quick question. Would supplementing with low dose T3 whilst on DNP be worthwhile? I've heard conflicting opinions, some say it would help because DNP will lower your natural T3 output, but I've never seen any convincing proof of this. I'm not concerned about the T3 being catabolic as I will be on a light cycle.

Also, is there any truth to the idea that DNP becomes less effective after the 10-14 day mark?

I can't really speak to the T3 bit. I haven't seen anything regarding 10-14 day DNP wearing off - it shouldn't because there's no feedback mechanism that I'm aware that would allow you to adjust to it. In terms of length of cycle, I'm pretty sure it's as long as you can tolerate. Being on DNP is not fun. Yes, it works, especially when combined with good diet control, but it's not a good feeling. In addition, histaminic side effects like hives may appear at some point as well, which could also limit how long you want to stay on.

I'm not trying to scare you off - just saying that yes it works, but you'll likely feel like crap while doing it, and if I didn't get hives from it I'd probably run a cycle of a month!
