Curious if there are things to look out for on labs with long term TRT that might lower libido?
I've been on TRT for a long time, and past year my libido has dropped quite a bit, and I have ED issues occasionally the little I am even interested in sex. Not sure if its because I am not that interested that causes the ED though! Or it could just be aging and lifestyle changes the past few years along with tons of stress? My T and E2 levels have been consistent for years, and I stick to the same doses and same protocol of T, HGH, HCG and adex. Other than low libido I have no real complaints and am very thankful for HRT.
My ejaculate volume and consistency over the years has definitely thinned out compared to the pre-TRT days but I assumed/doc said that can be from lowered sperm count. Orgasms are not as intense or pleasurable either. For the first 7 years or so of HRT that was NOT an issue, my sex life and pleasure from it was wonderful. I once did a mild blast with mast keeping my TRT the same, and that boosted my libido and sexual performance BIG TIME. However I am just so mellow lately, and wonder if there is some dopamine issue going on.
Have not done Deca for a longtime, and only did it twice low dose for joints early on with TRT because I did have tons of pain issues. Back then there were docs at a few different clinics pushing it on me and the bodybuilding community seemed to affirm its benefits reading various forums. Seemed to help with pain (was that psychosomatic?), but as I've read on here that is not perhaps really the case that the Deca was helping with joint pain and inflammation or healing of injuries. While I was on it did give me some Deca Dick even with the use of Caber but I bounced back after sexually (and now after reading lots on MESO am confused if Caber was even necessary if my E2 was still in check from my AI). Yes I read the long thread on AAS and Peptides concerning healing injuries, and try to read whatever Dr Scally and Dr Jim say about nandrolone although I admit its hard for me to totally grasp it all and the medical references.
Recently had a buddy with injury issues and read up a lot on here about things to help heal as he was gonna do Deca and HGH for it. In the past he has done Deca just for BB and despite being in his late 60s never had any Deca Dick issues with it. I told him to hold off because Deca might actually impede the healing of his rotator cuff issues. Through that reading I saw what seemed to be warnings that nandrolone can cause other issues long term and Dr Scally and Dr. Jim seem to think its terrible (but not entirely sure on that just trying to read between the lines). But if it was many years ago that I did only 100mg week of Deca for 10 weeks and another time 200mg week of Deca for another 10 weeks (with a break of about 3-4 years from the first time I tried it), would it somehow lower my libido long term and cause ED issues relating to dopamine somehow? My buddy is a senior citizen who has done Deca many many times with no issues long term, as it seems many on the forums have used Deca/NPP without issues either or bounced back after? Then there are others who take years to recover from Deca Dick, so its just an individual thing how it influences your body? But I think most of the threads I read of those struggling with Deca Dick issues for a year or more were guys who did cycles of large doses of Deca, which I have never done.
I've told my docs about this and I admit as much as I am thankful for having multiple doctors who are on board with HRT for their patients, they don't know as much as someone like Scally. They are well intentioned but seems there is a learning curve for the entire medical profession about HRT/TRT. My docs looked at my labs and everything is same as its always been, so nothing to them throws up red flags why my libido might be down and ED issues. I've had a truckload of continual stress for about 3 years that they think might be impacting me in ways they don't entirely understand from looking at labs. Meaning it could be psychological or my hypothalmus taking a beating from stress that is impacting libido.
Anyone else have libido issues on long term TRT?
