I'm only 24 and had used steriods over 3 years ago with no pct because it wasn't around. I crashed, no sex drive, impotance ect... now i'm better than
I was then as far as impotance ,but no motivation and low sex drive still!

My testosterone results were 398 6 months ago. my doc said thats normal.
so anther words he dosen't give a shit!

Does any one feel that at 24 it's normal for my testosterone to be at 398?

I dont know if a test level of 398, That I can qualify for trt at only 24 years old!

can anyone could help me out with advise on this issue?

I'm from outside the boston area and dont really know what type of docter or clinic that would accually help a 24 year old with this problem becuase most
anti-aging clinic reqiure you to be at least 30 year old to get help!
I dont even know of any clinics in this area.

Loopy,

A couple of things: The first thing that comes to mind is that you may benefit from PCT even now. You might ask this same question in the Anabolic forum here, and see what the more experienced bros say. Usually PCT consists of clomid and/or nolva, and sometimes hCG, and is intended to "kick start" your normal T production. That might be worth a try before going on TRT for life. However, it's possible that you were already low before you used AAS, in which case you might need to be on TRT. It's not the worst thing that could happen to you.

Second, total testosterone assays can be inaccurate. So to get a better idea of what your real T levels are, you should also get a free testosterone test at the same time. Also, find out the normal ranges for the particular test you took. The normal range will vary depending on the reagents that are used, etc. One might be 200-800, while another might be 300-1000. Anyway, good luck!

need advise!

Thanks for the advice!
I was alway a low testosterone person, always have had hard time making gains and being energetic. I think that even thought my t levels crashed a couple years back, I've gotten it to 398 now and I can have sex but it still sucks cause it still not enough. I definitely have a problem. I still experience testicular shrinkage at times and they still hurt every now and then. It not as bad as it has been the last couple of years because it used to be more often, but it still occurs. I will take a free testosterone test and then see were I stand.
I really believe I need trt but there one big problem, I'm only 24 and most docters that I've heard will only treat you if your at least 30 or over. I've emailed some anti-aging clinics on line with my problem, but no one responds back because I always mention my age.

so my question to you is can you give me any advise or a resource on how to find a docter who will help me even if I'm only 24. I definitely have a problem and I dont want to ruin my relationship.

Thanks!

At your age, i think you should be worked up by an Endocrinologist first, since you have always suffered these symptoms.

SWALE are you sure he needs to be seen by a Endo and if so where in
Gods name is he going to find one that is in the know on this. His T levels are normal for an 85 to 100 yr. old man.

Hell my wife had to stop seeing Endo's to get her Thyroid meds in balance. I am sorry but I have no use for Endo's. Seven times I was sent to see one in the last 21 yrs. and all they did was take me off meds to get what they call a base line test. My labs were not good enough for them and all they found out was how sick they could make me.

I've always had felt that I had low testosterone growing up because of very poor muscle growth, never motivated with energy and always not having a great sex drive. As far as testicular shrinkage and pains was only after the crash when I came off steriods 3 years ago.

1.what would a Endocrinologist do in order to treat my problem of low testosterone?

2.Can you give me any advise or resources on how to find one?

3.Is this type of doc the only option for someone at 24 ?

I think SWALE is recommending an ENDO so that the doc can look for the reason as to why he's always been like this. It may be something very serious that should be treated and an Endo would be the right choice for THAT portion. As for his treatment, I agree that he'd be better off without an Endo.

My 5 cents:
1. Don't take any PCT. Go and see an endo. He will want to take baseline readings, that's why you can not take the PCT just yet. Get a complete body check up. Let him see why your normal T production is low. Maybe he finds an explanation: testicular failure, pituitary issue (he might want to take that MRI),...
2. If there is no obvious reason, he will most definitaly blame your steroid abuse. Whatever.
3. I would personally ask for a HCG protocol to help me HPG-axis to start up. Discuss it with your endo. I have tried this two years ago. I got 1500 IU every 4 days. It helped me a bit. If your body is normal, this will work. (I have never used anabolic substances, I am just hypogonadal).
4. To find a doc: read through some of the recent posts. Phil has just given the list of names and adresses. The list is also on the Yahoo group Hypogonadism2, in the "files" section. Or take a holidaytrip to a nice location near the man-cave and pay a visit to SWALE: if you are so concerned about your health, maybe it's the best money you have ever spent....

PS. I don't understand these bodybuilders: they spent hundreds maybe thousands of dollars on stuff to get muscular, they screw up their HPG-axis in the process and suddenly one airplane ticket to the man-cave is too expensive to get healthy again....it makes you gonna think...
(Just a general impression I have, not meant personally. Please don't be offended.)

I have an appointment with a Uroligist on thurday this week and I'm not sure on what to say to him as far as steriod use. I'm worried that if I tell him I took steriods in the past It may be more difficult for him to help me.
My last doctor brushed every thing off as ok, he said 398 test level was fine
24 years old.
I'm going to seek a endo after the Uroligist only because I already had this appointment scheduled before I was advised to see an endo

can anyone give me advise on what I should say to the Uroligist?

What can a Uroligist do to treat this problem any one know?.

My Uro was the one that found me to have Low T and did all the tests need to tell why. So I stand by my post stay away from Endo's. And yes tell the Dr.'s you see about the steriods you did are you nuts seeing a Dr. and not giving him all the info he needs to treat you. Would you go to a Dr. for lung cancer and not tell him you smoked.
