Lower Back Pain

I have been having sharp pains in the left side of my lower back for about a week or so and they have yet to let up.

I think I might have traced it back to benching, and having something to do with arching my back. For some reason it always feels like i can arch and get more tight on the left side as opposed to the right side of my body, kind of like i can squeeze that shoulder blade tighter or whatnot.

Has anyone ever had anything like this before? It hurts mainly when i bend it, or when i get up from chairs and shit, it's hard to explain because it hurts at various times/positions, for no rhyme or reason. Anyone ever hurt their back arching on bench?

Could be something else, but I thought that might have been it. Thanks.

I have tweaked my back while benching bfore, I am a big arch bencher because of powerlifting. I think you should do VERY LIGHT good mornings for about 18 reps. That helped my flexors and lbackmuscles

I never hurt my back benching, but I did something to it jumping out of the top bunk of a bunk bed and landing on a shoe in the dark. Mine was in my right side and shot down my leg into my foot. After 2 weeks and not getting any better I went to a chiropractor, and within 2 weeks after seeing him I was completely better. Pinched sciatic nerve is what I had and it was painful. Chiropractor told me to do hyperextensions for the lower back shown here. http://www.myfit.ca/exercisedatabase/view.asp?table=pilates&ID=9
