I got the model SH-2 off ebay for $60 lol.. the heat is tricky at first once.you learn it ..it's not bad.. the way heat dissipates it will get hotter before it cools down.. if that makes sense to you.. I use a digital stainless meat thermometer to monitor.. for the money I'm happy with it.. far from the best.. but for $60 and a learning curve I like it alot.. if you can afford better then it's probably worth it.. depends how much and often your brewing..
