Micronize raw materials

I've converted the old fina pellets into crystals using the same method. No experience with any other raws tho. I know it's not much help but just thought I'd contribute

I will try this today and see if it workes. Sounds just like doing the pellits and I'm a champ at that.
I will post resaults later.
Going to do it with prop
I have shit tun extra of it
Along with all this prim to get rid of.

yup do it with my test P and yes it works, its simply purification by recrystallization....just make sure you rinse it well with cold distilled water

yea nophat its same shit as pellets exactly... just use methanol thats hot using the same principle, no more then what it takes to disolve your raws when its HOT. do melting point tests and repeat the procedure 2-3 times ;)

ideally you want to use reagent grade MEOH

I know nothing about brewing but I know some labs make a point to put in their list if they sell test suspension that it is Micronized. Is there a reason for this?
I know in test suspension of old when I'd shake before using I could actually see the test crystals. The lab I've been using for the last year micronizes the raw and I can't see the crystals. Are they broken/ground down to the point that they aren't visible?
I remember a member said that the micronization takes place during manufacturing not by the customer buying raws. The lab guy said that it may be done by the manufacturer but he also does his thing. Is this a tedious/time consuming process? I remember converting lots of fini and synovex back when but I don't remember any crazy long process?

Yea when making test base one will get the powder to suspend into a solvent k, once its hot and suspended, filtering that quickly before before it cools and falls out of suspension, (which would take place then before it had a chance to be filtered through, and wouldnt pass through as a result) but once it filters through which one would usually be filtering into a vial that contains the prefiltered distilled water, BA, anyhow, once you filter the base into the vial with water then it will titrate which will all be micronized. so pretty much filtering the test base as its in suspension leads to micronization

Why complicate something as easy as homebrewing.

Why disolve in alcohol? Bb is a much better solvent and doesn't burn. That is one reason there is so much fucked up gear out there.

The process isnt to homebrew the raw material. It's to purify it and micronize it.
