Mindset Challenges

So I like to take a day once a month to put regular training on hold and do something just for fun.

Generally that means whatever twisted shit I can think of that's going to make people wanna tap out halfway through.

Kind of a maximal expression of my training style. But if you finish? Legit bragging rights.

So was wondering if peoples here would be interested in getting in on it?

Honour system, obviously, but anything I post up is something that I'll be doing.

But...this month is the pickle walk. :(

Actually starting things out on the easier side with my favorite - Squat Party.

Simple concept: Hundred reps with bodyweight on the bar. Knockout style - you re-rack and you're out.

Meaning if you need to take a five minute break you can. You've just got to hold the bar while you rest.

This one I usually end up doing alone because...pussies. But it's a lot of fun if you can get a couple others to cowboy up and go for it.

I love that kind of stuff. Unfortunately got a hamstring injury the weekend before last and I'm out of commission on most lower body work for another month at least.

We did a 225lb bench rep out contest on here a few years ago. Got the race to four plate bench, five plate squat, and six plate deadlift thread up as well and also the race to a 700lb deadlift thread that nobody has managed yet.

Long way off from a four plate bench. Just working back to three at the moment and it's a slow mover for me.

Squat and Deadlift though...I'm gonna have to find them threads.

Once in awhile a couple of us will do fat grip row competitions for weight.

It's pretty ridiculous but it's a hoot. Better have some serious grip strength or you'll look like a chump.

Brian alshure of neversate has a WOD section(strongman/powerlifting/bodybuilding not CrossFit) that has mind set challenges built in. Bad ass programming too if you want a simple bad ass program to follow. (He lays out the phases and weeks in the programming, his YouTube channel tells more on his programming style but he depending on phase, he might use DUP, LP, conjugate, rotating percentage or traditional block)

Alsruhe's my spirit animal.

Ran across him browsing Thrall's stuff and insta-sub'd. Dude programs like I do, trains like I do, and has a pretty damn similar outlook on things in general.

Actually had to think pretty hard about competing in the Lionsate this year. Wholly unprepared at this point, but it's the travel that's really killing me. About a grand flying out and back and my truck wouldn't be too much better on gas. :/

And totally copped the thread title cause I've never known what to call the stupid shit I talk the Bros into - 1,200 rep warm-up on leg day anyone?

Yea not gonna lie, pretty much have a man crush on Brian. We think the same when it comes to programming and life in general and overall I just think he is a good dude. He is a fucking badass too.
