do you absofukinlutley hate the taste of fish? then why eat it?. dha and epa have benefits of there own, but fish oil is not efa. essential fatty acid. there are two. linoleic acid and alpha linolenic acid.
with those two, your body can chop and build the fats, hormones, and intricate mediators it needs. pro hormones if you will. provided good health, they can also be made into epa and dha. i do eat some fish though, more days than not.
linoleic acid is omega 6. relatively easy to get. get it from the fats of birds, wild and domestic. and in most nuts. peanutbutter. the rest is usually mostly oleic acid. but omega 3 is limited. fish? yes. flax seed is impractical and a pain in the ass. the oil is good though, and blends well in shakes and cereals. dont cook with it. and soy and canola have some 3s but are usually processed to some degree.
hemp seed contains both 3 and 6 and in a much more even ratio. it is said most diets have too much omega 6. arachidonic acid is omega 6 also but is pro inflamitory. it is also sold as a supplement for this purpose. hemp also contains gla, which is said to have anti-inflamatory properties. it may posess anti-estrogenic properties. its the fat that was heavily favored by barry sears in the zone. it is also in epo oil.
hemp seeds are also almost one for one in fat to protein. eat 50g good fats. get almost 50g protein. and its protein may or may not be worth looking into.
hemp also has interesting indusrial and practical uses. but aside from this and health benefits it still remains a danger. i cant grow it for myself and may as well be growing pot. my seeds are grown in canada.
