More on Setpoints.

Well Happy holidays guys, we were having a pretty nice conversaition about setpoints a few weeks ago and low and behold I have some new info to add. Prior to my first cycle I couldnt get over 265 or so after some cycles I thought my new natural setpoint was now around 275. Reason being whenever I left a cycle I would always go back to about 275 or so. Well I took 6 months off and have been back lifting now for about 10 weeks. I went from 275 to as of this morning I am at 297. I couldnt believe it when I got on the scale this morning. The highest I have ever been was 300 and that only lasted for a week or two. I couldnt maintain it and to get there I was on about a gram of test and 500mg of EQ. I am currently at 297 natural, bodyfat dropping and I havent been on a cycle for over 10 months. So I am thinking that my natural setpoint has changed drastically. I am pretty stoked to do a cycle to see what happens from here. The only thing that I am concerned about is will the test have any effect on me. I mean the last thing I want todo is a Gram of test and not make any real gains. Its happened before where I didnt gain much from a cycle It may have been the gear though. But if I am at 297 I am wondering if I can get any more mass on this frame.

Happy Holidays to you too, big guy!

Damn, a 22 pound gain naturally at an already high bodyweight! Way to go! Remember when I suggested you stay natural after your long lay off and gain as much as possible naturally? This is exactly what I was talking about. Now, when you go on cycle, you're starting at 300, instead of something much lower and you should be in for some continued, significant gains.

The thing is, wait for the natural gains to stop, then let that weight stabilize for 3-4 weeks. Perhaps reduce training intensity a little. Kind of like "coasting" for that time. Then hit the AAS cycle and turn the training back up. Who knows, you might hit 320 before you realize it. You should "stair-step" your weight gains and your training intensity. This helps minimize burn-out and injuries. Good job and good luck,

Oh I remember Max I am really glad that I tookk your advice, I'm going to ride this natural thing out and see where the road ends. My strength is still inncreasing and I am approaching pre layoff weights. I'vfe added rows to the routinne and am increasing there also. My flys are starting to taper but I am thinking of droppinng those anyhow. I'm doing 105 dumbells but I am thinking that my form may be starting to be more of a DB benchpress than a fly, any way I am paying close attentinon and may have somebody videotape it for me so that I can review the form. Thanks for the help
