motorcycle insurance sky high

i was in the market for a nice new harley davidson road king custom. after calling a few places for insurance, it turns out that full coverage on the bike would be anywhere from $2500 to $4500 a year in new york city. in-fucking-sane!! liability alone would be $1500-$2000. so i figured i might look at other bikes...like the suzuki katana 750. liability alone...$1300. new york sucks ass when it comes to insurance. i'm paying about $2500 for full coverage on a $29,000 truck, so paying close to the same for basic liabilty on a bike, well they can lick my milky white ass.

time to start looking for some property elswhere and have it registered/insured there.

just venting

have a nice day

car insurance = government-condoned scam.

it's fucking ridiculous but this is the price we pay for all the insurance scamming fucks here. fake accidents, false claims. the insurance companies pay out and we cover the tab... fucking bullshit.

when i was in college, i used to register my car in pelham manor, a mere 29 miles away from my home. my girl lived up there. i paid half the insurance, literally. of course the homes there were very expensive so buying wasn't exactly an option, but you can certainly go a little further up north and get a good deal on a home, or just land, and register up there for probably half, or less, of what it would cost in nyc.

it's shit like this that makes me want to leave the fucking city....

full coverage for 300/ year is what you could find around here. Maybe up to 600-800 for an expensive bike. Just another reason to not like New York lmao

hey joe, do you have a motorcycle license? How long you've had it makes a big difference in cali.. Obviously the longer the cheaper the rates.. I always tell people if you think you maye eventually want to get a bike to get your license now, have some time under your belt for good rates down the line..
