Got bar and weights (300 lbs total) for 178 at Dicks. My home gym just got better!

Its a nice start but you'll need at least twice that eventually. Building your home gym will be expensive and takes time

Man, I dream of the day of needing 600 lbs! If my Christmas bonus is what I'm being told its gonna be there will be a valor BD-7 power rack coming in two weeks.

What I mean is unless your running two Olympia bars you'll be racking and unracking all workout long. Its more convenient with more that's all im saying. Enjoy

Use Craigslist to built your home gym if possible. Completely agree with Trucker. I have 4 Olympic bars, two power racks and a separate bench and around 2000 pounds of weight. Probably a bit of overkill but not much, I hate having to constantly change plates. One rack for squatting, one to flat bench out of, third bar for deadlifting and the fourth is on the separate bench which I use for incline work.

Thanks for the ideas brothers! I guess I'm so used to having just one bar for the last year it never occurred to me life could be easier!

A power rack is definitely a good investment. I had to look up the one you listed, it will work for you now but is a pretty cheaply made rack. If you are anywhere near a major city in the US checkout craigslist. Put in power rack, power cage and squat rack as people list them under all three.

You should be able to find some Body Solid, Weider, Tracker and Body Craft brand racks which are a step up from what you are looking at in terms of how they are made $200 or less is a good deal, $250 to $300 is about average and a lot of them will come with a bench included. Sometimes you can pick up some plates in the deal as well.

I got the rack is this video for $50 and it has served me well for over 5 years
